The Duke Posted September 15, 2012 Share Posted September 15, 2012 First Quarter Observations Nebraska's base defense is still the 4-3 two gap scheme, but we've also rolled out a 3-3-5 set a few times. The overall tackling by the defense seems about the same as last week. Interesting bit of information that all our defenders are now wearing wrist bands to help with defensive communication. This was John Papuchis' idea according to ESPN. Our overall team speed on defense is still a major concern. Offensively Tim Beck is calling a smart game so far....more play-action passing, and less straight drop back. The way Arkansas State can line up so quickly on offense after a previous play is insane!
