krc1995
Notre Dame and Oklahoma would bring creditability. But Oklahoma is too far south. Quote Link to comment
krc1995
Maybe Iowa State? That was sarcasm Quote Link to comment
Coqui
Maryland I can see. They bring a good market, improve our basketball foothold, and increase academic standards. Quote Link to comment
Foppa
Guys, guys ,guys(and Lady )....... There are thousands of recruits in NJ, Maryland, Eastern PA and Northern Virginia that are just ripe for the picking now when you can look into Mama's eyes and let her know that you can see your kids play at home. Maryland and Rutgers are both top tier Public Universities that get us into markets(and Minds) that the Big Ten couldn't get before. Rutgers is a NYC area school with connections to NYU, Columbia and Princeton. Now the Big Ten has a few ties to those schools but now we will have more. NYC through the beltway is the most densely populated area in the Western Hemisphere I believe. I think only The Chinese Coast and Japan are more so. Now Carolina, GIT and UVA would be the best options in the Eastern Time zone but those schools seem to be in it for the longhaul(ACC wise) No one in NYC cares about college football. No one at NYU, Columbia, and Princeton care about sports. Quote Link to comment
AFhusker
Apperenlty it's more than a rumor: http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8644587/maryland-terrapins-rutgers-scarlet-knights-talks-join-big-ten-conference-sources-say Quote Link to comment

HuskerMav11
Another team to dominate us in basketball... Quote Link to comment

It's improving the lot of the 12 committed schools This brings MONEY and Recruiting ground. Princeton isn't in the business of academics for nothing. They make MONEY. Quote Link to comment
GM_Tood
For Nebraska, the geography of it sucks unless the BIG gets split into east and west divisions, then it would actually be better for us. East Mich Mich St Penn St Rutgers Maryland OSU Indiana West Nebraska Minn Wisky Iowa Northwestern Purdue Illinios Then do whatever with the cross division stuff, but this alignment would be very favorable for the Huskers....if it happened. If the SEC pushes on to 16 and the BIG follows, this would be the chance to try to get Kansas as one of the two remaining teams. Also this makes the Big 12 that much weaker desperately trying to add on any scab they can. The biggest winner if this happens is the new tv contract the BIG would get when they renegotiate. It will be record setting and then some adding the NY/NJ markets as well as the Baltimore/DC markets. YES PLEASE. That is how it should have been in the first place(obviously without the new schools) Agree! Quote Link to comment
Husker66
horrible idea. what does rutgers bring? maryland a very outside, but rutgers? seriously? is it april fools???...no....no way Quote Link to comment
Dagerow
I don't think anyone would disagree that adding to the 10 should be extremely selective. This is not selective. Only high profile additions should be considered. Quote Link to comment
CheeseHusker
Only if Maryland signs a contract pretending to never, ever wear those freakish uniforms again. Quote Link to comment
