Nobody
This off season has had a different feeling... a feeling that i've been getting more and more comfortable with the last couple seasons (for better or worse). I have always been with the majority in thinking that every game can be won during any given year.... but this is the first year where i've felt like the majority of fans have had enough and are just drained. Nobody (not speaking in third person) is predicting that we will win every game this year. The off season has been dreadfully boring this year..... nothing going on with exception of a couple bonehead mistakes that happen every year almost. This is not normal.. especially for us (nebraska fans). Normally we are gearing up for a possible bcs berth no matter what. When was the last time there was this much acceptance of mediocrity? well maybe not acceptance... but confidence that we will not excell. Yes our offense will impress up and down... but i think a lot of us can agree that we are only going to be as good as our defense. 1 Quote Link to comment
Hoosker
It doesn't really matter what we think. It only matters what the players think. Quote Link to comment
QMany
I'm predicting a 11-1 or 12-0 regular season and a Big Ten Championship birth. Depending on how that goes, we could see ourselves in a BCS bowl. In the off-season, no news is good news for me. Quote Link to comment

Was this comment necessary? this is a fan board. literally why it exists. I can agree with this. But it also doesnt FULLY matter what the players think. You can think all u want but what matters is who wins and loses. Mentality didnt help the players that went up against suh, for sake of argument. Quote Link to comment
True2tRA
So many question marks. No real answers. Lots of people who think they know, but lets face it, every time we thought we had things figured out this team has baffled us. The only thing I think I know looking forward to this season is this. The offense will be loaded with talent. The defense will be faster. Neither of those things necessarily translates to being dominant, but if I had to bet, I'd say this offense is the only sure thing we have right meow. One thing is certain, don't listen to the hype, and don't buy into a damn thing these coaches say. We just have to wait and see. 2 Quote Link to comment
Junior
I think fans (at least this fan) are excited for the season from the standpoint of "you never know..." but don't expect a huge season. The program under Pelini has dictated what fans should expect. Some nice wins, an ugly loss to a team we shouldn't lose to, and a blowout or two on the road. That's the history from 2008 to now. I see no reason to expect a change. So, I'm excited to watch some football this fall, and I'll yell really loudly... but in this offseason, I'm finding it hard to be super excited for another year without a conference championship. 1 Quote Link to comment
TonyStalloni
It's hard to tell but I suspect our mindset now is similar to what Husker fans were thinking in 1969. We had endured 2 or 3 mediocre seasons (6-4), and few were sure the situation would change but the 69 season ended well and the team bloomed in 70. Quote Link to comment

Saunders
After Southern Miss, the fans were on cloud 9 because our QB could throw. After UCLA, we were the worst NU team ever. Fans are fickle. 2 Quote Link to comment
NU jumper alum
In addition, there is no buzz surrounding recruits yet. When they start committing, we will see an uptick in interest/excitement Quote Link to comment
The Dude
I think we'll be better than last year. Just not sure if it will reflect in the record. It's hard to imagine anything other than 4 losses. Quote Link to comment

I see no reason to expect a change. 2009 and 2010 had blowout losses on the road? I missed those. Wait, no I didn't, they didn't exist. So 2 years without, 3 years with (one being his first year). Hardly the history from 2008 to now. Quote Link to comment
Enhance
It doesn't really matter what we think. It only matters what the players think do. Fixed it for you. I think many fans are understanding of this upcoming season's dynamics. There's no way to win every game on our schedule with the defense we have set up for 2013. Quote Link to comment
EZ-E
This is the first year in a long time that I really think we go 11-1 or 12-0. 3 Quote Link to comment
skersfan
I think the offense will be fine. I have questions on the defense being any better. If they were not good enough to play last year, redshirt or not, how do we expect them to be vastly improved. Listening Sirius, Nutt and Childers say 12-1 regular season, losing to Michigan and not being in the CCG. UCLA will be the deciding factor. I think Northwestern and Michigan State will test us to. As far as recruiting, we are really sucking hind tata. We have 3 commits I think, Michigan has 10-15 and so does Ohio State. Penn State, who really has nothing to offer is beating us in recruiting. Some how this has to change, I know we have never really been a great recruiting program so to speak, but in the this conference it is going to be even tougher. We are supposedly spending a lot of money on it, but the results do not seem to balance out. I heard that Bama, has nearly 40 specialist working recruiting. That I am sure is taking the NCAA rules to the limit, but if you want to win, it appears that is what it takes. As far as excited for the season, I am for sure. I am hoping the kids we redshirted actually turn the switch on and progress quickly. Bo is supposed to know defense, we will see this year. Oh by the way, the rumor/story that Nutt was considered/approached by Nebraska, was true according to Coach Nutt. He almost did it. I was never sure one way or another on that one. I think he would have been better than Clownahan, not sure where he stacks up with Bo. Quote Link to comment
