ADS
Got a little nugget of information just now. Apparently, the DL looks fantastic so far, but that can change with full pads. Says that if the DT's just eat up space and the occasional double team, they would do their jobs. Don't need them to get a massive push, just not massively pushed back into the LBs. The sheer size of our DTs is noticeable and it is harder to see these guys getting blown off the ball than last year, just because they are big and built. Sounds like McMullen, Gregory, Nickens really have come to play so far - at least these are the 3 mentioned. Gregory should be a starter immediately. McMullen is no slouch either, though. Linebackers - Fast, fast, fast. Still some issues with being decisive for some players here. Made a few more mistakes than other position groups as a unit. Which reminds me - apparently Bo met with the team and said something to the affect of - you'll make mistakes. Make them full-go and hopefully athleticism will make up for it. Making a mistake a half speed will not be acceptable. We watch and dissect everything. Haven't heard anything about the secondary. I assume all is well there though. TJ and Fisher are probably the biggest "players" coaches on the staff. Offense, obviously, looks dominant with no pads. Just an incredible amount of speed all over the field. Newby is untouchable without pads. Article in the Journal Star this morning said the secondary has the been the brightest spot so far, fwiw. Quote Link to comment
GSG
Samuel McKewon @swmckewonOWH 1m Quick roster takes from practice access Tuesday night. One recruit looked better than I thought he might: http://sports.omaha.com/2013/08/07/quick-husker-roster-takes/ … #huskers Quote Link to comment

GSG
From the link I posted a few spots above: >>Taariq Allen looked OK running the few routes we saw. Hurt the knee last year, you’ll recall, in the Michigan game. How that holds up on the field will be another question. Quincy Enunwa’s earned a lot of PT and he’ll take it. Enunwa is so cut and in shape at this point that I suspect he won’t need much rest during games. >>Vincent Valentine has redistributed some of the bad weight. Quote Link to comment

I figured that is why the gentleman glanced over secondary and most of the offense. Not really many concerns there. Quote Link to comment

We have so much young talent it's hard to mention them all. Thanks for the info BTW. I've heard good things about Curry and Nickens as well. 1Randle Williams/Curry 2 Nickens Williams/Curry 3. Mavric
Meanwhile in Michigan http://www.mlive.com...green_weig.html So their RBs are getting fatter and their lineman are getting smaller. Good trend. Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
Meanwhile in Michigan http://www.mlive.com...green_weig.html Pretty sure LeVeon Bell was 240 last year. And since this kid was regarded as the top RB in the country, I assume he is a standout runner. If a guy is able to keep most of his speed, 240 pounds on a RB is a scary weight for opposing defenses to face. If he has a tendency to gain weight easily, that could mean muscle as well. If that's the case, then that is damn impressive. Quote Link to comment
