Hunter94
In my lifetime (22 years), I've never seen a linebacker that had better instincts that Lavonte. He always found the ballcarrier, always finished the play, and had the speed and quickness to cover receivers. Not to mention he never said a negative thing about his teammates/coaches or got into trouble off the field. agree, class act all the way. Quote Link to comment
ADS
I misunderstood your post then, yeah the only ne maybe even close to Lavonte is Demarrio. Other than that, nobody really stands out. McKeon? Okay, yes Corey McKeon and Bo Ruud Oh, how quickly everyone forgets..... Quote Link to comment
The Dude
My Bucs fan buddy didn't buy into my Lavonte David hype, until after a couple weeks into the season. Then he wrote me an email that simply said, "Man, you were right about Lavonte David". Quote Link to comment
okaive
Good on David. Glad to see some love for our pro-huskers in the news now. Quote Link to comment
swmohusker
like others have said... this is not surprising. David had (and has) it all. Speed, quickness, great anticipation, excellent angles, great tackling skills, fantastic focus/effort/intensity. The sky is the limit for him. Expect an all-pro season from him. Very tough for OLB in a traditional 4-3 scheme to make the pro bowl. They usually lose out to 3-4 "backers" with the sexy sack statistics. I think it is wrong bc 34 backers are glorified d ends. But he will have trouble beating out clay Mathews AMD demarcus ware for pro bowl spots. I think lavonte will have a long dominant career in the NFL.and I hope he makes multiple pro bowls. Way to represent Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
At a certain point, talent and skill can only get you so far.. Heart and passion is the same way.. can only get you s far as well. When you have both(like Lavonte) you can be something special. The only thing he lacked was size. Quote Link to comment
RedRedJarvisRedwine
9 more years like last year and Vonte can punch his ticket to Canton! Quote Link to comment
HuskerFowler
@TBBuccaneers: Lavonte David makes a stop of Ray Rice behind the line of scrimmage. Where have we seen that before? Oh yeah, all of 2012. @TBBuccaneers: It's the Lavonte David show - first sack of the year goes to the blitzing second-year linebacker. Perfectly timed. Quote Link to comment

I came to NE in 1969 and I have never seen a guy cover side line to side line like David. He was a special talent at NU. Quote Link to comment
