Mavric
Didn't realize we were taking 24 this cycle. Who's leaving the program that allows us to take 24 and still be at 85. No walk-ons getting scholly's this fall? Rumor has it at least Burtch may be getting one, though it may not come until senior year. I don't think there's any way we'll get to 24. We'll have to have several leave early to get close to 20. But the exact numbers will depend on who leaves early and who we get to commit. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
I thought Anderson was recruited to be a safety? He plays safety in high school but we've told him he's going to start out at corner for us. Quote Link to comment

We should easily end up with 17 available...remember the 2012 class where we though we had 18 available. We took 17, (missing on Peat) and went into the season with another 5-7 schollies available if I remember right. It always works itself out. Class will probably be 19-20...and the few extras sprinkled in depend on whether we get a TE at the top of our board, or decide to grab an extra DL, etc. You don't pass up on a guy high on your board just because the numbers don't aren't perfectly clear in May. Honestly Mavric's list is probably the same whether we have 15 open, or 25 open. That's an ideal class. Quote Link to comment
Haspula
Just looking at random highlights. This WR from atlanta is an interesting prospect. He attended a nike camp and measured at 6'3, 184 lbs with a verified 33 inch vertical and electronic 4.5 40yd dash which is really good at 6'3. Check out his juke at 1:06: Doesn't make a whole lot of big plays in his highlight video. Really needs to work on just catching the ball. He's also very physical despite only benching 230 lbs. His senior year should be interesting, he needs to show he can score. http://www.hudl.com/...asaan-patterson Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Reading between the lines a little bit sounds like we may have our two CB commits for the year - as in only two - and are looking for two safeties. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Three-Star OT Scott Frantz of Lawrence, KS visited last weekend. No offer yet. Christian Gaylord has been working on him. Was very impressed with our facilities. Says he's grown a couple inches and added 100 pounds in the last year. His recruitment is really taking off with Miami, Missouri and K St. all offering in the last month. Garrison will be down to visit during the evaluation period and he said NU would be right at the top of his list if he gets an offer. Visited again for the Spring Game. Pretty sure he will commit if offered. Coaches told him they are still evaluating and want to get to know him better. He's hoping to get an offer during the spring evaluation period (next month or so). Quote Link to comment

I know we are not taking a second RB, but we have made an offer to Chandler Cox at FB. That does not seem to be happening. Daniel would be a good FB pick up. He is 5'11", and 217 lbs and has good measurements, benches 365 lbs, squats 425 lbs, 4.5 sec 40, and 33" vert. He is a load running north to south and can help in that check down position, a little tight when running laterally. Let's get another FB and run a FB trap first play every game like TO. http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1335399/highlights/105514375 Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
Do any of you recruiting guru's know when the last time we had 10 verbal commits before a season started? Or what was the most amount? Quote Link to comment
ADS
Do any of you recruiting guru's know when the last time we had 10 verbal commits before a season started? Or what was the most amount? 2008 class, before it fell apart. That's my guess. Quote Link to comment

Not sure how many more were committed then changed their minds. Although that class was helped by quite a bit of in-state talent - Steinkuhler, Okafor, Fisher and Levorson were four of those eight.
