Tommy's not nearly as fast or explosive as Taylor from what we've seen, but he executes the read option very well.

Well, Taylor without turf toe anyway. I don't think Martinez has been close to full speed four a couple of games now.

Tommy seems to have a little more wiggle than Taylor. I still say if we're not going to unleash Taylor's running, then why start him? Maybe if the coaches feel more comfortable about the backups, they'll let Taylor run.

Yet he seems to be more of a running threat and can avoid tackles, instead of curling up in a ball a getting crushed because he can't move laterally.

Mixing runs with a passing attack. Keeps their defense on their heels. Seeing our skill players do more than dive for poorly thrown passes or perimeter blocking is refreshing. When you can stretch the offensive legs and get balls to the skill players, the offense is dangerous. When your QB is timid in the pocket and 3 and 5 seems utterly impossible, you'll have troubles all season long. Worst case scenario is we are getting a peek at what could have been for the season and hopefully what's coming next season. On offense at least.

Our second and third string qbs are both better passers than our starter.

I'd be inclined to agree, but then I remembered we're playing SDSU. Let's wait on this until we see TA and/or RKIII against B1G competition.

And the way this year is going, I believe we're gonna see them play significant minutes during the heart of our schedule.

We saw TA make a couple throws under heavy pressure. We also saw him make a couple quick and correct decisions on the option.
