The Dude
I couldn't read the entire thread without convulsing. But basically this Swedish guy doesn't want Jay-Z associated with the Huskers because he's a successful business man? Does that apply to someone like Warren Buffett as well? Quote Link to comment
knapplc
I don't have any idea what this conversation is about, but I know it's not about Husker football. Moving to the Lounge.... 1 Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt96
This thread went to hell quickly. Jay Z is a successful person and it's admirable how he got from where he was to where he is. But that's besides the point; the recruits aren't going to see Jay Z because of his motivational, inspirational message. They are going to see Jay Z because of the same reason EVERYBODY sees Jay Z, they want to be entertained. Where is this uptightness coming from? Jay Z doesn't do anything differently than any other major rap artist. His songs are just better. Where did this idea that Nebraskans shouldn't stand for Jay Z coming to Lincoln come from? It's great that Jay Z wants to come to Lincoln! It shows that Lincoln can have a downtown scene and can draw the big name artists. What recruit WOULDN'T want to hear that? Some people man, some people. Who cares about any of this the important thing is Will she be here Quote Link to comment

SilentTreatment
I do like rap music, just not his. Dig a little deeper than just face value. Ya jay z sucks. Not even cool enough to put in capital letters. Record sales dont make talent. The guy talks nonsense and people buy into it. I know hes a name and his songs are "catchy" but his lyrics are crap and he boasts up himself alot. Biggie 2pac Nas Krayzie Bone Game all tell stories of how life is. Jay z just talks crap about how great he thinks he is. I could go on. Im an ameteur rap artist but i keep it underground this guy sold out to radio music. Ugh. No respect for him at all. Rappers like him give the game a bad name. Quote Link to comment

MLB 51
Hes the leader of the Illuminati and their watching our every move... Stop it.... You're scaring Christians.... Your man LBJ is in it to. Just watch as he is introduced. He does all those weird signs with a triangle thrown in there. Oh No...... That looks more like a diamond than a triangle. Btw, im just joking. But I do have a friend that is absolutely convinced the Illuminati exist and Jay-Z and Beyonce are the leaders just waiting for the right moment to take over the country. He told me to watch a video about how them and how all the major corporations have the triangle with eyes sign. I think its all BS. Couldn't be any worse than the azzholes that are running ruining it now. Quote Link to comment

He may have been glamourized a bit because of his death, but what he meant to hip hop will never be forgotton. He didnt have a fantastic vocabularry but his message was tremendous. Idk . I just dont like how rappers these days talk anout bling bling and money. I prefer keepin it real. Quote Link to comment
HUSKER 37
Without getting too political or too far down the slippery slope it would be equivelent to Notre Dame trying to get recruits to attend a miley Cyrus MTV music awards. Not really No recruits are interested in seeing Miley Cyrus or would equate Lincoln being "cool" if Miley was in town Right well I don't think Nebraskans want to promote the debauchery that unfolds at both of their concerts The arena will be full; so evidently there are enough Nebraskans that want to see it including potential Nebraska players. I have witnessed debauchery at epic levels at a Kenny Chesney concert, I've seen boobs at a Toby Keith concert, and I've seen "smoke" at a Willy Nelson concert. To hell if any of their kind have the audacity to put on another show in our state...Some uptight "Nebraskans" need to get over themselves... Are these all local artists? I have a larger music collection than almost anyone I've ever met,,Probably over 1200 units in different formats representing over a dozen different genera..Why is Willie Nelson the only one of these "artists" that I know I've heard before? I'm not even sure which genera any of these represent..I doubt my 12 year old has even heard of any of these except Miley Ciris. I AM a closet Tony Loc fan (OK TONE) but overall, I still think of "Rap Music" as being anudder oxymoron..Any of you able to tell me some of his songs..er.I mean.rants I should check out so I have a better idea of what I'm s'posed to like to look good to the cool kids?...And PLEASE tell me they're finally starting to use some more better drum beats..I used to be a drummer and my Son is still learning. Still.. I think we should be trying harder to recruit Maggots (Slipknot fans) than try to deal with whatever likes this squaredance stuff..or is it auction calling? Quote Link to comment
