Mavric
that is how they manage. but i will concede. although i think fbs could make a 16 team playoff work if they wanted to. i still think 10 is best (after this discussion), with top 2 teams getting byes. I'm not saying everything is perfect in my scenario. But I think it makes as many people happy as possible while expanding the playoffs. Interesting comments on getting rid of the CCGs. Not sure if they'd go for that or not. You'd definitely have time for 16 teams if you did that. Quote Link to comment

You'd definitely have time for 16 teams if you did that. i thing ccg's would need to go to get to a 16 team playoff. otherwise, what they could do is create 4 superconferences. each superconference have a 4 team playoff and then the champions would enter the 4 team playoff for a championship. i thought i saw it going that way, but who knows now. we have seen the problem with ccg's in regards to the bcs. if a conference gets two bids, it is never the loser of the ccg. even though they could have been the second best team in the conference. hskrfan4life
I agree 100% with the prediction. That is where I think we will be by the end of the season, I will continue to think so until It turns out otherwise. Quote Link to comment
walksalone
The offense is fine (if Beck manages not to go full SW) Is SW the same guy whose offense is ranked ahead of Nebraska's? yea, the same SW that wasted some awesome defenses with is idiotic play calling in 09 & 10... DJR313
As it stands we're going to have to outscore Northwestern and possibly Michigan, and if we make it far enough we'll have to outscore Ohio State, too. Isn't this the objective of football, to outscore the opponent? Quote Link to comment
irafreak
We have a LOT of improvement to do on defense before we even think about a BCS bowl. As it stands we're going to have to outscore Northwestern and possibly Michigan, and if we make it far enough we'll have to outscore Ohio State, too. I was thinking about our defense last night and it dawned on me that I was relieved that we weren't in the Big12 if only for the fact that I couldn't stand the thought of Baylor dropping 70 on us.... Our defense was built to stop a Big 12 offense. Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
If the defense shows discernible improvement this week and after the bye, it could set up well. Time will tell. Quote Link to comment

IMO the defense will at the very least be serviceable by the end of the year. They will continue to get better and better. Don't worry so much about the yards given up and look at the points per game and TO the defense can get. That is what will be the difference. Quote Link to comment
