Popular Post knapplc
Look at these two bright young lads, fresh-faced, their lives in front of them, all the potential in the world to be anything or anyone they want. That's Kenny Bell and Kain Colter in their snappy chapeaus, both probably tearing around the playground when they weren't performing in some play. Who knew they'd grow up into these two fine young men? Wouldn't it have been crazy to have been in the hall for that performance, having the foreknowledge that a decade later you'd be in the stadium watching these two marvelous athletes will their teams to victory? Colter's eligibility is (thankfully!) up after this season, and Husker fans won't have to watch him carving up our defense for a fourth straight year. Kenny will be back, though, representing the 303. Wish we could have had both of these guys. Would have been tremendous to see Colter cutting up and down the field wearing scarlet & cream. But all the same, it's been a pleasure to watch them both play. Good luck to Colter on his future endeavors. It'd be great to see him in Evanston next year (in the stands, of course) cheering on his Wildcats - and his childhood buddy, Kenny Bell. 12 Quote Link to comment
TGHusker
Great post Knapp. Friendships transcends rivalries - Colter was a very good opponent and seemed to be a class act. Who would have predict that the NU and UN series would become the kind of competitive series that it has become. I hope it continues - but please no more Hail Mary's to win it on the last play - getting too old for the stress. Quote Link to comment
NUance
Those are great pics. : Where in the wide world of sports did you find that pic, Knap? Tineye tells me that yours is the only copy on the Interwebz. Quote Link to comment

ColoradoHusk
If NU hadn't gone with Brion Carnes, Kain Colter could have easily been a Husker. Quote Link to comment

knapplc
I haven't used Tineye in like, forever. I forgot it even exists. Google image search is where it's at. I got that childhood pic off the Twitter that the kids use these days. I couldn't even tell you whose timeline I found it on. Quote Link to comment

Yeah, if you have chrome and right click on a picture you can select it right from the drop down menu. Or just go to the google home page, click the images tab and select the camera icon in the search bar. Quote Link to comment
Atbone95
That's the sad part. Colter has been quoted before saying if the Huskers had given him a shot, there's no other school we would have wanted to play for. Quote Link to comment

Colter has been quoted before saying if the Huskers had given him a shot, there's no other school we would have wanted to play for. Meaning? We never offered him? Seriously, how did we not get both of these kids. You can't seriously tell me Nebraska and Nirthwestern both offered him and he chose NW over us? Quote Link to comment
GSG
I don't believe we ever offered Colter a scholarship Quote Link to comment

NU was looking for a QB/athlete late in the recruiting class. NU offered Carnes instead of Colter. Quote Link to comment
