presidentjlh
Once again we have to play from behind, expect nothing less at this point, they'll either fold or dig deep and go get what they want. A trip to Indy is all that's on the line guys................up to you if you want to get it together and make it there. Simple as that......... Absolutely. How bad do these guys want it? This game isn't over. If they come out and march down the filed to score a TD, this game will be over. We'll see if Pelini can light a fire under these kids arses or not fairly quickly. I have my doubts after how we started and played the first half as these kids have to know what this game means. He's been here 6 years - has he ever been able to 'light a fire? Uhhh....last year? Hercules
What 2nd half adjustments do you make? I would like to see more D pressure than ever before. NU needs a TO to help the O. Pressure, pressure, pressure More pressure, on every down. Feed AA the ball and then play action off of that. <img class="UMSRatingIcon" id="ums_img_tooltip" /> ^^^^ This. Except it doesn't work when AA can only play two snaps in a row. He gets two good runs, then Cross is in for 2 plays, and the offense completely stops. To be the kind of offense we had in the 90's (Run a bunch, play action our way to 50 points), you have to have two things at RB - better depth, and better conditioning. Quote Link to comment

But if we give up another turnover that leads to points, then it's over Quote Link to comment

C'mon, you knew that was a silly statement to make even before you posted it. Pelini has come back and rallied the troops from bigger and more dire circumstances. That aspect of his coaching isn't in question. Quote Link to comment

MichiganDad3
Just too typical of a 1st half for Bo. Turnover margin is the difference in the game and Bo has only had a positive TO margin one year at NU in 2009. Negative TO margin the other 5. Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. That is not by accident, that shows where coaching priorities are I see where you're coming from, but I figure these coaches probably assumed these players knew that holding onto the f'ing ball was essential at this level and maybe they had learned that by now. But hey, f#*k the game plan and weight training, scheme, and execution. Maybe we just work on holding on the football and hope the rest works itself out. At this point, it isn't the worst idea I've ever heard. I never play CFB, but I am assuming that it is much togher to hold on to the ball at NU than in high school. All the NU players were bigger and stronger than the competition in high school, and probably rarely fumbled. Now they have players that can catch them, and there are very strong players trying to rip the ball lose. I am assuming freshman need coaching regarding fumbles. I also link this to the punt team performance. Quote Link to comment
