Mavric
Halftime with Gorman dominating the supposed #1 team in the country. Overall, I like what I see from Perry. I really wasn't sure what to think about him but he was solid. Played probably 80% of the snaps on both sides of the ball - which is saying something by itself for the probably-going-to-be #1 team in the country - and held his own against a very good team. Didn't make any great plays - which probably isn't expected from an interior lineman against a great team - but didn't really miss any either. The only thing I saw him miss was he didn't hold a block long enough on a screen. I was most impressed with his pursuit. He's listed at 285 and if that is correct he carries the weight extremely well. Chased down a very quick RB about 15 yards downfield once and pursued well on several plays from his DT spot. With how well he moves, I think he could be a great OG for us. Definitely has the feet to pull as we often ask our guards to do. 1 Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Mom was "blow away" and "amazed" by the visit. He says we're at the top of his list now but still going to take other visits. Quote Link to comment
irieboy8
i say we get him in the end...... the desire to play big time ball and get a quality education will out weigh the whole ivy league thing..... i think this is a result of mom being assured the kid will get a top notch education Quote Link to comment
Mavric
I tend to agree. I really wasn't sure about him for awhile but we seem to still be after him and sounds like mom was convinced after the visit. Quote Link to comment
Atbone95
The question - no knock on Jackson Perry, but with two BIG commitments in the 2016 class and already having an interior lineman in 2015 when everyone including the coaches has said we will only take 1... what's the room looking like for this young man? Mavric
That's kind of been my question for awhile - even before we got the 2016 commits. But the coaches still seem to be after him so they must like him. My guess is his versatility gives him an edge. If we end up with enough on the OLine, he could play DT. We already have the Davis twins who are expected to play DT but at least one of them could also play DE so we have some flexibility. Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
You just can't have enough OL or DL depth. 1 Quote Link to comment
RedSavage
Assuming we get him, it's a pretty safe bet Bo will play him on both sides of the ball in camp to see where he likes him the most Quote Link to comment

Hedley Lamarr
Barney said at Big Red Breakfast if they take another lineman this year it will be a tackle. Barney is a big picture guy, I'm sure he doesn't know specifics or if his socks match Quote Link to comment
