Atbone95
Really happy for this kid. Brilliant guy who always said he'd rather go to the Ivy League than focus on higher level D1 ball, and I completely respect that. Wishing him the best of luck. 3 Quote Link to comment
C N Red
Is Dartmouth considered "better" than Vandy? I know Dartmouth is Ivy but a Vandy degree is pretty well respected i believe. Guess im asking is a Dartmouth degree held alot higher than a Vandy degree? Looks like Dartmouth ranked 11 and Vandy 16. But would think get more football exposure at Vandy. Guess cant tell what kid is thinking. No wrong pick really. Guess just matters what he wants with his future. Good luck to him. I have a feeling he will do great and go on to big things no matter what. 1 Quote Link to comment

Hell, I could have gone somewhere much more prestigious academically and I ended up at UNL because I love UNL. I don't think football is his main concern, just something he enjoys doing. And that's something that is very refreshing to see. Quote Link to comment

There might not be much that separates them academically but when you go to an Ivy League school, you kind of join a "club" that holds a lot of weight. Quote Link to comment

There is also the comfort level with the location and coaches. He seems to be a smart kid. I think he knows what he is doing. Quote Link to comment

mnhusker
Dartmouth is in the top 10 colleges in the nation. Vanderbilt is in the top 20. If academics were my main worry or focus, I'd go to Dartmouth. Isn't Michigan the new Stanford ............. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Meh, rankings aren't that objective and precise. They're both good schools, probably with different specialties, and in very different settings. Good for him if he had the option, and there are any number of reasons he might prefer one to another. Geaux Big Red
The name probably carries more weight nationally if he plans on moving back to las Vegas you would think but yeah they are both fantastic schools. Kid made a wise decision. Can't fault him either way. Hope him the best. Quote Link to comment

BigRedBuster
I don't know this kid at all. But, just knowing what was said in this thread seems to me to point to him being a pretty smart kid looking out for his future long after college. Congrats on getting into Dartmouth. 1 Quote Link to comment
