jamrinelli
Nebraska drops out of the top 25 in the AP, drops to 21 in coaches and drops to 21 in USA rankings. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Rightfully so, have a lot to work on. Sigh...... Quote Link to comment
hskrpwr13
I can't argue with the ranking, however, it does seem like we payed a steeper price for struggling with an inferior opponent than the likes of others (UCLA, Kansas St, UNC, probably forgetting someone). I'd put McNeese St on par, if not better, than the opponents of those teams I mentioned. B1G perception issue? 4 Quote Link to comment

UCLA in particular has struggled with 2 pretty mediocre teams and is still at #12. Oh well, it's early. Things will sort themselves out. Quote Link to comment
It'sNotAFakeID
David Pollack even ranked us 14th. Desmond Howard ranked us 20th. So it's not all bad. Quote Link to comment
funhusker
IF....the Huskers were to beat Fresno by 5 TD's on the road, does the AP put them right back at 19? Quote Link to comment

Tell me what each of the 25 ranked teams does next weekend, and maybe the next 5 receiving votes too, and I'll take a shot at answering that. Quote Link to comment
funhusker
^^^I'll put you down for a "maybe". Quote Link to comment

The Nebraskan Assassin
Doesn't matter. This team is nowhere near where it needs to be. 1 Quote Link to comment
Stumpy1
Doesn't matter. This team is nowhere near where it needs to be. And you can tell this by the last game? Give me a break...Last year, FSU needed a miracle against BC to win and look at how Auburn got to the MNC. I was listening to a sports show on the radio lastnight and Micheal Brewer, VT QB, came on and was talking about the parity in college ball and how ANY team can beat a top team on any given day. He said it isn't like the old days where you have a couple of teams that are head and shoulders above the rest. Quote Link to comment

Doesn't matter, because there is still the stigma of playing a FCS school. I agree with others that say there is nothing to gain in a game like that. Blow them out, and you get a yawn. Have a close game, and it's "OMG! Nebraska almost lost to a FCS school!" I don't think McNeese St or NDSU would have a problem beating FAU, 2 Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
No matter what happens, we are up against it because of the perception that some of these FCS teams are SOOOO BADDD. McNeese Sate/North Dakota State would beat a large chunk of the bottom part of the FBS world... I honestly believe NDSU would be around 6-8 in the B1G right now. They are a very good team. Kernal
There's plenty of games left for NU to move up in the rankings. Most of the talking heads wrote off the Big Ten after yesterday's games, but the truth is by the end of the season, top-ten teams will have a loss or two or three. Quote Link to comment
Redux
ESPN decided the Big Ten is already out of the Playoff. 2 weeks in, were done. Because Sparty and tOSU lost as the favorites to win the league, nobody else could POSSIBLY step up. Saturdays game was really uninspiring. But if we could just get the message across to the team. This is our chance. The conference is so ripe for the picking. 1 Quote Link to comment
