We have a coward of an AD

As much as people want to believe that the AD has full control to make hiring/firing decisions, it just isn't the case.

This. Just like every other big time program, they have to have the backing of their donors or they will lose support ($).

Then get rid of those losers along with Pelini. I'm tired of losers making the decisions for our football program. Having money doesn't help a person make good decisions. If anything, it's the opposite.

Start winning big games and everybody will want to be rubbing elbows with the new staff and there will be plenty of dollars to go around.

It's a combination of the two issues.

When we have large money donors in positions that hold true influence inside the University, it creates a bit of a conflict.

Just to give an example - at one point last year, Tim Clare is a weathly donor and is the chairman of the Board of Regents. Clare was also on the Board of Directors for Bo's charitable foundation.

Hawks, Pillen, and some other guys share pretty close friendships with Bo.

It's why I've said if people truly are angry and want change inside the program, their anger would be better served going at the Board of Regents members rather than Eichorst.

Howard Hawks is the chairman of the Board of Regents, a huge booster (Hawks Championship Center, our indoor practice facility, is named after him), and is a close friend of Bo. This decision is not made by us, it is made by the elite.

The nice thing, these elite are as passionate about this program as we all are. Some are fed up and hopefully discussions are being had. Hopefully is the best we have right now.

Eichorst had the perfect opportunity after Iowa. No one would have blamed him and the decision could have been justified on grounds other than the lack of on-field results. In fact, the media was taking it as a no-brainer that he was gone and starting to speculate on who the next coach would be. He blew it.

I almost feel like the Nebraska fan base is being punked. Like Ashton Kucher is going to come out any moment and point out all the cameras and Pelini, Eichorst, and Perlman are going to laugh and point to our embarrassed faces and be all, "C'mon! You didn't really think we were going to let something that bad pass for Nebraska football, right? Man, we just kept thinking how ridiculous we could make it and see what you all did. We still can't believe some fans were behind Bo at the end. Y'all are too funny!"

eichorst didnt blow it. The threat from THE THREE largest donors of substance to pull out EVERYTHING blew it. Bo was all but gone. Even bo himself. I for one was glad to see him get ine more shot. A lot of injuries on our veteran offense last year to counter our very young defense. But i dont think anyone will argue that both sides of the ball this year, at the very best, have not improved at all. Hence its time to hit the road jack. I just hope theses guys of supposed importance see it the same way.

If that's true (and I don't doubt you), then Hawks and Cook and the other elites who are friends of Bo need to sit him the F down and tell him to knock the BS off with toddler assistants. If Bo were my friend and I had the purse strings, I would have no problem sitting him down and telling him how it was gonna be. I do this all the time at my job with subordinates with whom I am friends when they are not getting it done.

Papuchis, Beck, Cotton, Garrison, and Els have to be gone. Fisher, Brown, and Warren can stay. Bring in an elite OC, DC, OL coach, and a dedicated full-time QB coach. Change the scheme. No more multiple bullsh#t. Power run offense. Just need a QB who can manage the game and hand the football off. Focus on the lines, both offense and defensive. Recruit big boys to plug up the middle on both sides of the ball. Don't go bananas trying to find elite dual-threat QBs.

Hawks was elected chairman in January of this year. Clare was chairman before Hawks.

Either way it really doesn't matter. Both share close friendships with Bo.

Sorry, wasn't arguing with you. Just pointing out that both last year and this years Chairman are Bo's boys. Should have worded that better.

Folks--calm down. Eichorst isn't going to do anything this season, but this may not be a bad thing: don't forget there are big schools like Florida and Michigan who have vacancies, and they likely won't be the only ones.

Considering how some schools still think Pelini hung the moon and stars, Eichorst may not have to do anything if someone motions toward Bo--Eichorst could just let Bo go, which would be a win/win for everyone that believes Bo should go. For example, LSU still likes Bo, and if Les Miles goes (assuming Michigan doesn't get a Harbaugh...), they may come a callin'.

And as much s**t as the press gave DONU for firing a 9 win coach before, imagine the s**tstorm in a pro-SEC, anti-B1G college football environment whose narrative is dictated by ESPN. DONU would be ripped apart, and good luck recruiting under that cloud.

In this instance, not doing anything would be the best course of action.

What world are you living in man? There are not going to be schools fighting to get Bo Pelini lol.

We won't receive much heat for firing Bo, and really we could do it right now. We have seen 7 years worth of work, and Saturday's game is the last evaluation necessary.

We took more heat for Frank bc he was in the NC game 2 years prior. And he won a conference championship.

We have no idea what other schools would be doing and Pelini has enough connections in the football world he would have nothing to be concerned about. His allies include top boosters at Nebraska, Tom Osborne, Bob Stoops, Pete Carroll and many others.

Frank lived on TO players and could not recruit and it was plain as day.

Sure, he'll get an AC job no problem. Maybe even a HC job in the MAC if he so desires. Schools like LSU ain't calling Bo up though to be a HC.

Rumor 'round these parts is the MAC job may be better than a B1G gig.
