Eric the Red
I was thinking Bobby Newcombe. Not what materialized, but rather potential, hype, and excitement for a player. Quote Link to comment

caveman99
Ameer, he did have a great Fr. season on kick off special teams. Saved a couple games himself, Fresno St comes to mind. Quote Link to comment

Also based upon "not what materialized, but rather potential, hype, and excitement for a player", I might also say Taylor Martinez. 3 Quote Link to comment

Sparker
Taylor Martinez. Yeah, that went from Heisman and MNC to WTF rather quickly. Quote Link to comment
HuskerfaninOkieland
On the defense side, I remember watching a young Corey McKeon and thinking holy sh#t this kid is gonna be good. Then it went down hill from there. Quote Link to comment
Red Five
Taylor Martinez. 51-26 @ Washington 48-13 @ K State 51-41 @ #17 Ok State 31-17 vs #7 Mizzou Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
Taylor Martinez Rex Burkhead Maliek Collins Vincent Valentine Charles Jackson Jamal Turner Kenny Bell Ciante Evans Alfonzo Dennard Aaron Green Terrell Newby Andrew Rodriguez Tyler Moore Avery Moss Point is, potential is just that - potential. I'm definitely excited for DPE's future, but there are a LOT of playmakers on this team who hopefully are given a greater chance to shine by the schemes that our new staff implements. Branno
I have to agree with True... it's TMart. From the pure perspective of "holy sh#t this guy can be special" freshman season he has so much potential. I'd love to see what would have been without injury, and can't wait to see what DPE does. admo
Forget "potential". That's the fuzzy thinking you see from so many fans calling high school recruits "beasts" and "ballers" DPE is WYSIWYG. Nothing else changes. He's that good, and that's good enough. Quote Link to comment
