NUance
Anyone here ever have problems with the bottoms of their golf shoes coming unglued? I have a Footjoy that completely came unglued on Sunday. It started coming apart at the first green (I was walking), and by the time I got to #7 tee box is was unglued to about 2" from the toe. I have a different pair that's also starting to come unglued at the toe. This never happens with my regular (non-golf) shoes. What gives, anyway? Can this be fixed? Quote Link to comment

Mavric
My last two weeks: Mid-money tournament: Won the 2nd flight Basically-for-fun tournament: Won the 2nd flight Huge-money tournament: T-3 2nd flight, missed Calcutta by 0.25 strokes. Not to shabby - basically got lucky on the cut line in the first two. Only problem is I did better in the ones that didn't pay much and missed a chance at the big money. 1 Quote Link to comment
NUance
Hadn't played for a while before last week. Shot an 86. Felt like I missed a lot of opportunities that cost me several strokes. I guess that's the way it always is though. For the past month I've been looking forward to playing in the 4th of July scramble my course has each year. But I injured my hand two days before. Couldn't swing a club. I was bummed out all day thinking about that event going on without me. Quote Link to comment
C N Red
Anyone here play Tatanka yet? It's at a reservation casino near Niobrara, Nebraska. It just opened this fall, I think. I'd never heard of it until I saw an article in a golf magazine a couple days ago. Will this next year. Only live about 45 minutes from it. btw, The article was the cover story from a couple weeks ago. I don't think the article is on-line though. : Here's a little bit about it. http://golfweek.com/news/2015/dec/29/albanese-turns-attention-new-casino-course-michiga/ Played the course a couple weeks back. It's pretty damn awesome. The tall stuff is thick. I was lucky to only lose 2 balls. You can tell its a young course, but it's still pretty sweet. The greens are really nice and most have different levels. There is basically not a flat hole on the course. A lot of up and down. One hole, number 12 I believe is kind of unfair. 200-200+ yard par 3, straight up hill. There is a bunker in the front, left is not good, and there is some fairway right but it runs out quick and there is OB. And off the tee there is a tree in the way if you are on one of the tee boxes to the left. I'm guessing they will be changing that hole a little before it's all said and done to make it more playable. As of now, your better laying up to the right and playing it as a par 4. There are some really cool holes otherwise. The best thing? The price is an absolute steal!!! Especially if you want to play early or a little later in the day. But even during "prime" time it's still a steal. Well worth it. 1 Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
Well OK then....... I was wondering if there are any other equipment nerds out there like I am. This really isn't surprising as Nike's equipment never has been big with the average golfer. Yeah, there might be a few guys who wanted to play what Tiger Woods played, but Nike was never going to compete with Taylor Made, Callaway, Titleist, and others equipment companies. Now, Nike can concentrate on apparel and shoes, which have the highest margins anyway, and their staffers can wear Nike head to toe and be associated with those players. Quote Link to comment
wiuhusker
Just got back from a weekend long golf trip with 8 guys in Phoenix. Stayed at the JW Marriot Desert Ridge resort. Resort had 2 courses. One was designed by Palmer and one was a Faldo course. Got pretty lucky with the weather as it wasn't disgustingly hot until Saturday. As for the golf it is definitely a different style down there. Ball flies further and rolls out a lot more than here in the midwest. Had a blast down there and I think were looking to book a trip yearly now. This was the first time any of us had done something like this. Anyone have suggestions for places they have went and done similar things? We are looking to make this a yearly deal now. NUance
The course record where I play has been 62 for quite a few years. Some guy went out and shot a 59 on Friday. Then on Saturday he shot a 63. Wow, just wow. That guy can really golf his ball. : Quote Link to comment
wiuhusker
Had a chance to get out and play Saturday morning at Ashland CC. Shot 79 but very easily should have been 74 or 75. Ill put together 7 or straight holes of good golf then have 1 blow up hole that does me in. 1 Quote Link to comment

I always say I need to peg it at Ashland CC because it looks surprisingly decent driving by. Just a tough draw with Ironhorse and Quarry Oaks nearby. Sidenote: Do they have a decent range? When I'm back in town, we stay between Ashland and Yutan and I always am searching for a range nearby. End up driving in town to Indian Creek most of the time, which has a great practice facility. I don't believe that they have a range. I would just make the trek to Indian Creek. Nicest range facility I've seen in town. Haven't played Quarry but I wasn't a huge fan. And for the $25 i paid Saturday morning it was more than worth it. Quote Link to comment
NUance
Wow! Wouldn't have thought a golf ball would compress that much. 1 Quote Link to comment
