benjibean1
I am happy to see the Huskers win tonight but I dont understand why we continued to let Fyfe sling the rock all throughout the 4th quarter. It is one thing if you want to run it up by running the ball...but to keep moving it that way just felt low class. Here is to hoping I can feel the same way next week in the 4th quarter when we are in Maimi. Quote Link to comment
Wordek
It's not our coaches job to stop our offense. It's the other teams. Quote Link to comment
84HuskerLaw
I think you run the offense and especially when you have a young team and new players running a new system and you are facing a long tough schedule ahead. We can't afford to be nice and lay on the ball in the 4th quarter. We did not really run up the score as it was only in the 40s anyway. If we had been throwing for the end zone up by 60, that might be different. But we substituted a bunch and played a number of young guys anyway. We ran our offense and should. We are not a run run run run and run some more offense either. I would have liked to have Fyfe throw a few more balls myself. I said before the game that we needed to see him throw 10 times and complete 6 for a TD. Not sure if he got that many but I don't it. More like about 6 or so. 2 Quote Link to comment
Guy Chamberlin
It's to give your back up QB valuable real game experience. So. Alabama was doing the same thing. I'm guessing there were no hard feelings. 3 Quote Link to comment
74Hunter
It's what this staff does. We will see how this offense works in November, with 20 degree temps, sleet and 40 mph winds. 1 Quote Link to comment
chamrocck
Coaches want to see the back-up make some throws and execute some plays to see how he does. Nothing more than that. Quote Link to comment

Fyfe needs real game experience, you get that by following the normal game plan. 5 Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
OMG. Maybe because we wanted to have him practice throwing it instead of handing it off over and over. Maybe because the backup QB needs some development. Great topic. 1 Quote Link to comment
Ratt Mhule
Jesus, did we lose tonight? The top two threads on this board are threads questioning the coaches decisions. Christ, just be happy for a win. Who gives a sh#t if we run up the score. 1 Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt316
Because half our wideouts missed time during fall camp and need every live rep they can get in the new offense before next week and beyond? Quote Link to comment
