Danny Bateman
If Armstrong is out & we are going to throw the ball 50 times, I would sure like to see what Zack Darlington and to a lessor extent AJ Bush could do. Fife is the backup. Play the backup.Screw it, let's just play all three. Lol Quote Link to comment
Redux
Here's a whole threadhttp://www.huskerboa...+if +not +tommy I did a search of the entire thread for the word "hate"...0 results... Don't be so nitpicky, the whole point is people think we have a better option than Tommy. We don't, not yet. 1 Quote Link to comment
Stone Cold
Nebraska where quarterbacks go to die this is all too common of a tale the past 10 years Quote Link to comment
GBRedneck
If Tommy can't go, and Ryker Fyfe starts....we are one play away from seeing ...????? Bush will be next after Fyfe unless Tommy suits up and is just held out for precautionary measures. If Tommy doesn't suit up, Darlington will travel as the third option behind Bush. Mavric
Seeing rumors of turf toe. I really hope that's not true. Unfortunately that would explain the boot and the lingering issues... Quote Link to comment
Bowfin
Don't be so nitpicky, the whole point is people think we have a better option than Tommy. We don't, not yet. My nitpicking point was to quell the hyperbole that anyone who doesn't support something or someone 102% is a hater. But back to Armstrong and Fyfe: Purdue is as good a game as any for Fyfe to get some playing time and experience. I think Fyfe might prove to be a bit more...cerebral, shall we say?...when it comes to making decisions and choices. Sometimes, it's not who is the better athlete, it is who can run the offense better, or even who meshes with the offensive philosophy better. I think Armstrong has some running talent that isn't utilized to its fullest in a Mike Riley offense, although it still shows up once in a while. Anyhow, this is a moot point if Armstrong plays. If he doesn't play, all of this is still probably pointless because we will see what we see come Saturday. 2 Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
Seeing rumors of turf toe. I really hope that's not true. Man! Good thing Purdue has a grass field! 6 Quote Link to comment
Sargon
My "well this ought to be interesting" side is wanting to see NU play Purdue with a Fyfe, Newby backfield. My "wow this really ought to be interesting" side wants to watch a Darlington, Wilbon backfield (true story). I'm guessing this may be like watching NU impersonate Indiana lol. Or imitating Ohio State? Fyfe gets hurt early and ???? comes in as third string backup and light the place on fire.!!?? 1 Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
I'm very uneasy about this. I hope Fyfe proves me wrong, but this scenario scares the hell outta me Quote Link to comment
Sargon
Bush, Wilbon, Moore, Jano, Westy, DPE Run, screen, run, run, screen, run, p/a, run, run, screen, run, 3 step drop DPE, run, roll out to Westy, run, run, post to Moore repeat repeat Put in Foster if either guard can't make f'ing run blocks. Coaching is not f'ing rocket science. We are playing Purdue. Punch em in the mouth, win, get on the bus. 2 Quote Link to comment

Red Five
Anybody know if Tommy practiced Wednesday? Doesn't look like there was any media availability after practice tonight. Quote Link to comment
seaofred92
Thinking it might be smart to take Purdue and the 10.5 right now Quote Link to comment
