84HuskerLaw
Sounded to me like tommy is most likely OUT for this week end and Fyfe is 'the man'. Hope that doesn't end up being the excuse we run the ball 50 of the 64 snaps Saturday and punt 14 times. I would not be surprised if the coaches would like a chance to prove the run game doesn't work. Of course, this is NOT what most of us are saying when it comes to committing to the run. We want the run to be our bread and butter and pass to complement the run. We would not want a non running QB to run our run oriented attack. We want a QB with strong running ability and moderate passing skills to run our ground based attack with diverse set of running plays and a complementary set of play action and drop back and roll out throws. We don't need 5 WRs more than 5 plays a a game. For each 5 WR snaps, we want 2 snaps with 3 RBs and double tight ends. Quote Link to comment

Sargon
My "well this ought to be interesting" side is wanting to see NU play Purdue with a Fyfe, Newby backfield. My "wow this really ought to be interesting" side wants to watch a Darlington, Wilbon backfield (true story). I'm guessing this may be like watching NU impersonate Indiana lol. 1 Quote Link to comment
grandpasknee
If Tommy can't go, and Ryker Fyfe starts....we are one play away from seeing ...????? Quote Link to comment

Or imitating Ohio State? Fyfe gets hurt early and ???? comes in as third string backup and light the place on fire.!!?? Quote Link to comment
Danimal
Well the coaches will have an excuse when we drop the game to the worst team in the B1G. Wiscy beat Illinois with their back-up qb. Even with Fyfe we shouldn't lose to Purdue. I think Tommy will play though, hopefully we can pull it together and get him out of the game early. Quote Link to comment
KazLong
Pray for Tommy. I know I will at mass. Fyfe is not that great... If Fyfe is the next man up I hope he proves me wrong and owns them. Quote Link to comment
Dansker
Fyfe throws a very tight spiral and is very accurate. Don't be surprised to see him lead a handful of scoring drives. Him having a great game would be a huge confidence boost for the offense heading into the game against Sparty. Quote Link to comment

The sooner people get over this, the sooner they will live happier lives free from the stress of wanting the past back. I'll even go so far as to say what you or I want concerning the team is completely irrelevant. Quote Link to comment

RunRedRun
Well wait, if Fife plays Saturday that means langsdorf will call run plays correct? Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt96
If Armstrong is out & we are going to throw the ball 50 times, I would sure like to see what Zack Darlington and to a lessor extent AJ Bush could do. Quote Link to comment
