AFhusker
Jeez...........we just can't put this game away can we? Good call there Langsdork. He called exactly what people were asking for. Running it and then short passes/screens. So TA throws it right to an DL and that is Langs fault? Both of Rutgers TD's are on TA's lack of intelligence, and nobody else. This boards obsession with blaming the coaches for the players screwing up is beyond ridiculous. That play could've been less "cute" if you ask me, JMO. If you can't see the poor game management by the coaching staff well there is nothing I can do about that. You have to be willfully myopic to not see the staff is inhibiting the kids via their playcalling. This offense needs a series to string together--a 'win', if you will. Chucking the f*****g ball on 3rd and 4 downfield 40 yards is unnecessary--running and getting 4+ is, so you focus on getting the kids some 'wins' on offense, and string together a drive. Keep running the f*****g ball, and when Rutgers starts to cheat against the run, THEN you go to the air. It's not f*****g rocket science, except to this staff, apparently. You are not seeing the other WR's that aren't running 40 yards downfield? That is on TA for throwing it deep instead they of throwing to a WR or TE that is on a shallow route. We shouldn't have been throwing it on those downs. That's on the coaching staff, and they keep making decisions that put this team in a position to lose. Up 21-0 why are we airing it out instead of pounding it out? Down 21-7 with a minute left, and we go to the air again! Then, after getting a first down from 3 runs we throw a screen at the line. TA isn't the tallest QB, of course he's gonna throw it to a spot if he can't see their guy. On a day when we are gashing them on the ground, why not run more? This isn't the 1920's when the forward pass was illegal. The runs have been set up by the pass, if you can't see that then there is nothing I can say to help you. Passing to setup the run is a unresponsible at best when your QB's passing is not your strong suit. How are you supposed to do it the other way when your OL sucks? They are better at pass blocking than they are at run blocking. They are playing to the OL "strengths." Maybe someday when we get some better OL we can be good at both, but as of now the OL limits what we can do. 1 Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Janovich can do it all, #stud I think the announcer is in love with him. Who doesn't love seeing an old school football player in today's game? He's a good football player, didn't think I'd see him on defense. Anyone know if he's been in any other time this year on defense? Quote Link to comment
Danny Bateman
Beast run by Cross there. That was off a draw. That was set up by our PASSSING. We got stuffed when we tried to run right at them immediately after. Then we PASSED for the TD. It's all conceptual folks. Some just don't get it So, you like TA's passing as the emphasis in this offense?Nope. He's been great at times and God-awful at others. That's TA. But it's what we've got. Fans are delusional if they think this offense is going to magically morph into a run-reliant one any time soon. It's pass-reliant, like it or not. Coaches sticking to their guns and coaching THEIR system. I like it. Quote Link to comment

Norhusker
As much as we live and die by TA, and I hate that, he's all we got, he goes down and we're screwed against Iowa and probably this game. I doubt we lose to Purdue if he's in there during that game to be honest. There is no doubt in my mind that we beat Purdue by 20+ points if TA plays the Purdue game. No doubt in my mind we beat Purdue of we just RUN THE DAMNED BALL. Coaching cost us that game. Not Fyfe. Oh dear lord, you are freaking GD ridiculous. Mentally we were not ready for Purdue. They were definitely ready.... Quote Link to comment

We were going into the wind. With a huge lead. Running is goin well. We don't need a score, so yeah I'd like us to run and beat up on their d line. Then after multiple runs we call a f'ing stupid screen. Do we need a passing game? Yes. But do we need to be a pass first team to win? No. Langs is trying to force a square peg through a round hole. BoNeyard
FG will be fine, just need some sort of points from that great defensive stop. Meanwhile, Michigan in a battle with indiana. I can enjoy a Hoosier win over the wolverines. 1 Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Go get 'im in the hot tub and get him rested up for Iowa Agree, no need to risk taking a second hit in the same spot. My son took a nasty hit on his thigh, came back and got hit in the same spot, and ended up with compartment syndrome, that took two surgeries to fix. Compartment syndrome is some nasty stuff. It sure is, the surgeon said another 30 minutes and the leg would have been amputated. It is unbelievably painful, and the pain meds do not work. My son was in so much pain he asked the doctor to amputate. Very scary. That sounds terrible............blah! Quote Link to comment

Danimal
I think doing the reverse on the fake punt was dumb. It makes the play too slow-developing, all element of surprise was gone. Quote Link to comment
AFhusker
Janovich can do it all, #stud I think the announcer is in love with him. Jano will get a shot with an NFL for sure!!!! With the we are using the TE and FB it has got to help with some of the recruits we are after! I think that Jano and Westy are the only two sure guys who will get a shot at the next level and will stick with a team. Quote Link to comment

BoNeyard
Guys, I think overall the coaching staff has called a good game both offensively and defensively..TA has made mistakes on his own bad decisions that Rutgers have capitalized off of. 2 Quote Link to comment
