The General Election

Trump has a lot of interesting things he says, like for instance building a wall or not releasing his tax plan. But lets be real Hillary doesn't know how to run this country, but she will know how to ruin it. She says bill will run the economy, showing us she doesn't know what she is doing. I mean if Bill wants to run again... well he can't and lots of people like him but absolutely don't like her. Trump says great things that make sense, I like his idea to get us to be better in trade, Hillary won't fight for America's rights, Trump also will bring back factories that have left the country. Hillary wants to give illegals rights which could be harmful, and Trump will get rid of people doing bad stuff and prevent other illegals we don't know about. Trump will win this election, he is in my mind the better of the two because if we have 8 or heck four more years of ruining the country it will cost this country greatly. So if you go Hillary that's fine but Trump will turn us toward being in better shape, because this country needs some sort of change. Military needs to be better and jobs are available with tons of unemployed people. My choice is Trump and he will destroy Hillary in Nebraska and hopefully in the general election as well.

Our military needs to be better??? We spend more on our military than anything we spend money on in this country by FAR. Military officials have said many times that they don't need all the money that gets flung at them. If we put 10 percent of what we pay into our military into education we wouldn't have dumb dumb trump equivalent supporters by the time they were old enough to vote.

Yes our military needs to be better. The problem is that the money is being spent in the wrong area's, the same can be said about the cuts. They are cutting veterans benefits (active and retirement) while keeping worthless projects going that are in some cases decades behind. But our "leaders" (term used very loosely on both sides of the isles) do this to help out the special interests that have bought and paid for them to get elected in the first place. I don't think we want to get into how poorly the military has been run over the last 8 years. All you have to do is look at how froggy our enemies are getting because they know that we won't do anything about it under this president.

You have it backwards on the education comment, more money won't get spent on it by the Democrats because their backbone is the uneducated voter. As much as a mess the Republican Party is, the Democrats are 10K worse, the media is just trying to cover it up with their liberal agenda. All you have to do is look at who they have running. They have a presumptive front runner who should be in jail for many reasons over the course of her 30 years in public office who also (just like Trump) isn't very popular within her party. The other is a socialist who is pandering to the entitled young vote who have no idea what socialism really is. Just look at Venezuela on how that works out after the government runs out of money to give out freebee's.

Wow....that's a glowing endorsement.

Hillary is horrible so I'm voting for Trump and....hoping and praying it's not as bad as it might be.

The same can be said for those that are supporting Hillary. They are scared of what Trump might do, so they want to keep the status quo.

The funny part is that the Governor of Colorado just stated that Hillary wouldn't be getting this kind of scrutiny if she was a man. Which just made one of Trumps "outrageous" statements that all Hillary has is the "woman card" true. I am pretty sure that he will be getting a phone call to keep his mouth shut next time as he just did more damage (if that is even possible) to her sinking campaign.

So drug cartels building tunnels is the new line to try to discredit the Mexico wall huh? Or maybe it's just Guy C.

You do realize that a wall like the one that is being proposed would have cement foundations that are 10+ ft deep, right?

I have a great friend who is in the national guard, and he'd much rather be sent to the middle East than the border because it's so unsafe there. Drugs are only one of the many problems that an unsecured border causes.

I guess the real question is how much that wall would really cost to build and support, how would it return that investment, and whether that same amount of money could do vastly more beneficial things for more Americans.

The very well-financed and clever drug cartels have elaborate tunnel systems that are a marvel of engineering and deceit. Maybe a 10 foot deep cement foundation would make you sleep better, or elect the guy who throws out random promises like "10 foot deep cement foundation" but that would merely be a fresh obstacle for a criminal enterprises that would laugh at the money America was throwing at an extremely temporary and ineffective solution.

But the first question would be to determine how badly illegal immigration is hurting this country, and the answer is that it's not even remotely the menace Trump is promoting, and in many cases has a positive if problematic economic return.

And it's less of a problem than it was a decade ago.

As complicated as the issue may be, there are some facts on the subject, and they don't always support the anecdotal hate-spewing.

Sorry, Shark, but I'm still having a hard time figuring out how people who claim to hate Big Government, Big Spending, and ill-conceived Social Engineering would line up behind the man who wants to build a 2,000 mile wall on the Mexican border.

Although as mentioned, I think Trump is enough of a businessman to know the wall is a terrible investment that will never work, but it sounds good when you're recruiting angry voters who have no desire to fact check him.

What's kind of funny: if Donald Trump could snap his fingers and deport the 11 million illegal immigrants overnight, many of his Trump Enterprises would be gutted of the cheap employees he has always relied on.

How exactly does a wall on the southern border have anything to do with big government? It's supporting nationalism, nothing more. People like me who oppose big government support Trump because of his ideas to cut many of the over-reaching aspects of our government, and as a former educator who has seen how our educational system works first-hand, he is going to get rid of arbitrary testing and bring educational decisions to the state and local levels, which is how it SHOULD be.

It's funny how people dismiss the things he says. At first when he said Mexico would pay for the wall, their former president says "we're not going to pay for that f***ing wall!" The rhetoric is drastically different now, just months later. You can choose not to believe it, that's your choice. Hell, I'm not sure if I believe that it will be paid for by Mexico, or if congress will even let it happen (if they even have a say in the matter). But I feel that he's saying that as a firm stance to begin negotiations on the matter. The 30-35% tariffs on trades with China is serving the same purpose. It's starting the grounds for negotiations.

People don't want another 4 years of the same old sh*t in the White House, ESPECIALLY when it comes to the most dishonest person I've ever personally witnessed. Trump is advocating big change that will benefit every-day Americans more than any candidate in the past few decades, which is why he's going to be the next Commander in Chief.

Why do people say others are scared of what Trump might do as if that somehow promulgates him for the presidency? Fear of the unknown with the most powerful political position in the world is in no way a good thing, particularly if it risks the complete destabilization of social progression and international political cooperation.

So....I post a video of a guy making points as to why Trump is a total imbecile (in a comedic way) and to counter that, a video is posted of a person who claims to be kind of/sort of/maybe going to support Trump because he's not nearly as bad as the alternative. She really doesn't give any real reason to vote for him other than....he isn't Hillary.

Wow.....that just gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling.

She typically presents her points in short, fiery segments. Watch more of them, and you'll see why she supports him other than the fact that Hillary is pretty much evil.

So... If you were to see data that showed that a higher percentage of Republican voters are uneducated than Democratic voters, you'd ignore it because it's the "liberal agenda?" This is a nice and easy cop out for you. It must make it easy to win arguments.

The problem with looking at a single variable, like education level, is you're not accounting for trends like the proportion of people who graduate in each era. 60-80 year olds are far less likely to be college graduates than 25 year olds. Looking at it by itself is silly regardless of whether it supports Republicans or Democrats.

Not only that, but this woman I've never heard of and whose opinion holds no conviction for me (despite the fact that she's "easy on the eyes" like that should mean something) works for Glenn Beck's media outlet.

It's been awhile since I delved deeply into this topic, but do you have any hard conclusive data to back this statement up? A few years ago, it was pretty well determined/documented in most areas of the country (other than the deep south) the higher the education level = the more likely someone was to vote democratic.

I'm honestly curious: for the people who think Obama has been a disaster, what exactly did he do that prevented you from your own pursuit of life, liberty and happiness?

The question at this point is typically "are we better off than we were 8 years ago" and the answer is yes, of course, no question about it. And with genuine collaboration and debate rather than mere obstructionism, it could have been better.

The things going wrong with America are many years in the making, involve the exponential growth of income disparity and have been fed by both parties.

But it seems pretty clear to me the last thing we need right now is a thin-skinned billionaire who wants to take America back to a time that didn't exist.

He mandated that PUBLIC SCHOOLS be forced into having gender neutral LOCKER ROOMS. While that doesn't affect me. It affects my neices, and my potential future daughters.

If schools don't comply then federal funding goes out the window? This has gone from absurd to just down right biased and stupid

If Obama is a bad president for this, how do you rate the latest Bush presidency in light of No Child Left Behind and The Patriot Act?
