A man you can bait with a Tweet

I'm no mathematician or stats guru but I know there are some here (Moraine??) This gal seems to have some perspective and there's a thread explaining it.

I'm not sure what you're asking (but I didn't read the whole thing).

But here is Trump in statistical terms:

T = Trump

X = infinite other variables

i.e., X = {CIA, FBI, Obama, Rosie O'Donnell, Trump's ancestor who passed down the short finger gene, Mexicans, Muslims, scientists, people who tell the truth, the dog that barked at him 3 years ago on his way to the dentist, .... , n}

The intersection between T and X is undefined/nonexistant.

Y > 0 means something good happened

Y < 0 means something bad happened

If Y > 0, Y = b0 + b1T

If Y < 0, Y = b0 + b1*X1+ ... + bn*Xn

Now if all of the above looks nonsensical it's because it's a bunch of bullsh#t and not how math or statistics works. You use predictor/explanatory variables like X and T and see if they predict an outcome. Trump finds an outcome first, and if it's good, he is the lone explanatory variable.

In the tweet example:

Y17 = budget decrease in 2017

Y09 = budget decrease in 2009

Since Y17 is > 0 (something good happened):

Y17 = b0 + b1*Trump

Since Y09 < 0 (something bad happened; there was a negative budget decrease)

Y09 = b0 +b1*Obama

There is only one explanatory variable in each of the equations.
