ColoradoHusk
How come Gerry got his this week? He isn't starting, is he? It looks like the coaches prefer to hand the Blackshirts out as a group, even if a guy is suspended for Game 1. 1 Quote Link to comment
macroboy
I forget. Are we pro or con blackshirts being handed out before the first game? Also, where do we stand on the exact number of Blackshirts that are handed out? Personally, I think there should only be 11. That doesn't make any sense with the way football is played today. Guys that don't start could still play more reps because of different personnel packages. 1 Quote Link to comment

I tend to agree with this line of thinking. I don't mind the starting nickel and dime backs getting Blackshirts. That's something Bo used to do. It seems like Banker also gives Blackshirts to senior leaders on the D, see Rose-Ivey and Weber. I do realize that those 2 will also get plenty of PT in the LB rotation. Quote Link to comment
caveman99
I forget. Are we pro or con blackshirts being handed out before the first game?Personally I think it should happen in fall camp before the first game. Being handed out right after the end of Fall Camp and at the start of the first game week is when McBride always handed them out because that is when the Starting D is published so HCMR is following what many see as the "right way" to do it. 1 Quote Link to comment

JJ Husker
Well at least this deal got straightened out and It's not even week 7 yet. I really hated the way Bo handled it. Quote Link to comment

If you're not a starter, you shouldn't get one, but that's just me. Quote Link to comment

Maybe I should clarify....I still see this time period as being part of fall camp. As long as it's done before the first game, I'm good with it. Quote Link to comment
