The two biggest arguments hung around Hillary Clinton's neck are Benghazi and the email server.

That would have been just another week in the Bush administration, another blip on the news cycle. And that's not really conjecture. The same people who clutch their pearls about Benghazi were oddly silent during the Iraq debacle. They also have a lot of the facts wrong, but whatever.

You don't have to love Hillary Clinton. I don't. But you should be aware that much of the hate and outrage against her has been orchestrated and paid for by people with their own wildly unethical standards.

Interestingly enough, a lot of the private money opposing HIllary never wanted Donald Trump anywhere near the White House, but whoops...

If Donald Trump thinks he's been unfairly scrutinized and attacked these past 18 months, he should walk a mile in Hillary Clinton's pantsuit.

Those are merely two things about Hillary that I don't like. She is a perfect politician. She is a very dishonest person that says one thing one day and denies saying it the next. Some people liked Bill Clinton too, but he was a perverted adulterer that I know a lot of people thought did a great job in the White House and simply overlooked his immorality.

You still need to take these standards you've established for Hillary and extend them to the politician you'd prefer in the White House.

I, and most of the alleged "Hillary supporters" here are just giving facts in response to misinformation. For that, we're accused of supporting a candidate we've all, frequently, said we don't support, and are denounced because of it.

I'll just continue to provide facts and truth in the face of this. I can't help what others think of me, unfortunately.

If you're referring to my post then just refer to it and get it over with. Notice I used the terminology "some of her supporters" in my post. Let's not play the victim here, Trump supporters get bashed in here regularly so I feel bad that some of those folks can't voice their opinion on him without people thinking they're crazy. You know as well as I do where there's smoke there's fire with Hillary. All these accusations aren't for ZERO reason like folks try to attest to at times and counteract with articles from CNN.

I completely agree there's smoke with Hillary. There's been smoke for 20-something years.

But here's the problem with the "there's gotta be fire" theory - they've been investigating her for 20-something years. At this point you have two choices:

1) Either she's no more dirty than any other politician out there.

2) the Republicans are the most insanely inept investigators in the history of this planet.

If she's no more dirty than any other politician out there - and Occam's Razor says she is - then she isn't this "most terriblest candidate ever!!!!" that people who want to justify a Trump vote claim. She's run-of-the-mill.

If it's #2... then people need to bail on the Republican party hard, because they're huge wasters of time & money.

Trump, on the other hand, from his own mouth dozens of times has said things that would have submarined any other candidate in US election history. His own words.

We have them on Twitter, because he typed them.

We have them on video, because he said them in interviews.

We have recordings of them, because he couldn't keep his yap shut and an open mic got him.

The man boasted about invading the dressing room of teenage girls. Boasted about it! That statement, alone, would have ended the campaign of any other candidate. Ever.

So don't play victim when people denounce you for supporting Trump. He's the single worst candidate we've seen in our lifetime. You support that candidate, you should expect to get grief.

Who says that I don't? I don't like Hillary or Trump. I have the same standards for any politician whether they are Democrat or Republican. I just get tired of people saying that they are so anti Trump but they are defending Hillary.

I dunno. How was Hillary's handling of the emails any better than Nixon's role in the Watergate scandal? In Watergate Nixon had no role or even knowledge of the initial break-in. His crime was that he lied about it and discarded evidence to cover it up. By contrast Hillary did have a role in the use of private email servers. They were her emails! And, like Nixon, she lied about it and then discarded evidence to cover it up. (Okay, *she* probably didn't delete the emails herself. Just like Nixon didn't personally erase those tapes. But they knew, and directed the effort.)

For me though, I don't hold the emails or Benghazi against Hillary as much as her crooked commodities trading. Even though that was many years ago it serves as proof that she was a crook from the get go.

That said, I doubt if Hillary is any less honest or more corrupt than Donald Trump. I mean, the guy is a real estate developer and casino owner. I'm guessing that he's engaged in corruption on a much, much larger scale than anything Hillary ever dipped her snout in.

There are a lot of credible articles out there that discuss what happened in Watergate and what happened with Hillary's email. You would have to stretch those facts a lot to say what she did was as bad (if not worse) than Nixon...

Then perhaps you could point to an incorrect statement in one of the sentences of mine that you in the bolded—since you've apparently read those many credible articles on the two scandals.

Where, when and how did Hillary Clinton lie about setting up a personal server or try to cover it up? She declined to set up a State Dept. email account for herself when she took the Secretary of State job; did people at the dept just assume that she was going to do everything over the phone and hand written letters. She didn't hide the fact that she was using a personal server. It didn't become an issue until there was the possibility she was sending classified information (which it appears she did inadvertently) and was investigated by the FBI. The FBI determined she didn't purposely hide anything and didn't intend to do anything mischievous with the information on her personal server.

There's a start...

http://www.factcheck.org/2016/07/a-guide-to-clintons-emails/

Did Clinton have a government email account?

No. The FBI said she declined to have one set up for her.

The State Department’s information technology staff did create two email accounts associated with Clinton that were not used by her. One was used to send mass emails to all State Department employees on her behalf. That was SMSGS@state.gov, and it was not configured to receive emails. The other was SSHRC@state.gov, which was created only to manage Clinton’s Outlook Calendar. That one was not configured to send or receive emails. (See page 10.)

The email "scandal" is a clusterf### and everyone knows it, including Clinton. She broke company policy and is paying a political price for it. She owns it as much as she can. She knows she screwed up. Nixon had to be pardoned to avoid prosecution.

I've said numerous times over the past few weeks that I don't support him. The problem people think they have the right to harass Trump supporters and they simply don't. It's everyone's right to vote for who they want. I was always in the #neverhillary camp and on the fence on whether I was going to support Trump. I decided a few weeks ago, maybe even less, to say "there has to be someone else out there or I've got no choice, but to not vote"

#facepalm.............just forget it. There are numerous threads in here and there are a few examples here of people saying Trump supporters need to explain themselves. You can look if you like, I'm not going to find all the examples for you. And I'm speaking in generalities across the board, not just the world of huskerboard.com.

The FBI determined she didn't willfully hide anything and didn't intend to do anything mischievous with the information on her personal server.

There's a start...

Hillary: "Let me repeat what I have repeated for many months now," Clinton said July 2, 2016. "I never received nor sent any material that was marked classified."

FBI: In total, the investigation found 110 emails in 52 email chains containing information that was classified at the time it was sent or received. LINK

Seems pretty clearcut to me. She lied. Nixon lied. She deleted. Nixon erased. :dunno:

If all lies are equal, then yes, they are the same....

(except she deleted hers after she turned over what they wanted and Nixon erased his so they couldn't get what they wanted)

Edit: For clarity, you compared Nixon to Clinton because you felt she tried to cover her tracks with a personal server. That's not the case. So now you feel the need to compare Clinton to Nixon because she "lied". And this conversation is based in your rationale for possibly voting for Trump. Trump is fueling his campaign with lies and half truths but apparently isn't a problem for you. Do you see how some get confused by this "logic"?

Last edit (then I need to get my butt to conferences :) ) : sorry, Nuance. Looking through the thread you did say Trump is probably just as dishonest or even more so than Hillary. I must have crossed you with someone else...But I am leaving my post because there are people that think that way.

Why is it, BRI, whenever anyone asks you to get specific, you get angry, throw up your hands and say, "Go look for it yourself."

It's amazing how you can read into my posts and see how "angry" I am. I'm not doing the leg work for you that's why. I don't feel the need to prove myself to someone on a message board, that's why. Remember it's a post, not a face to face conversation dude. I'm only saying what's fair is fair, if someone wants to support Trump, fine, why do they have to explain themselves to anybody here? But it's automatically just accepted that Hillary supporters don't have to explain themselves with their choice.

You are talking about HuskerBoard. You said so yourself:

Trump supporters get bashed in here regularly so I feel bad that some of those folks can't voice their opinion on him without people thinking they're crazy.

You don't even have to post quotes. Just give us the names of the "Trump supporters" who "get bashed in here regularly."

I'm not doing the leg work for you that's why.

See, funny thing. I've done the legwork. I've looked. No Trump supporters are being bashed here on HuskerBoard.
