Red_Payne
I don't like creating threads; but on NSD, this has been running through my mind. Where do you guys think Neb's recruiting classes should be ranking in order to perform at the level where you'd be satisfied with. Where should we rank among B1G teams, as well as nationally. Personally, I would like to see Neb. compete for a CC at least every 3 years, and be in the hunt for the CCG every year. (finishing 1st, 2nd, maybe 3rd in their div. & having the Iowa game be meaningful) In order to do that, I think Neb. Should be pulling in recruiting classes ranked at least 25 nationally. More importantly, I think Neb. should pull in the 4th or 5th best class in the B1G. I never expect to beat OSU or Mich. but we should be able to compete with Mich St., Penn St., Wisc., and apparently Maryland. What are your guys' thoughts? 1 Quote Link to comment
Landlord
15-20, top 4 in the B1G 2 Quote Link to comment
The Maudfather
As of 2015, here's the amount of money Big 10 schools are spending on recruiting: IMO, we should be top 15-20 every year, with an occasional class around 10 (or better). If we want to compete with Ohio State instead of a 62-3 ass beating, we need better athletes. 1 Quote Link to comment
Branno
I think most years we should expect a top 20 class, which it looks like we'll get this year. Some years we might hit on a guy like Lewis and get closer to the top 10, but 18th (which is what I think we'll get) feels right. Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
I think a general consensus would be 15-20 with 1 out of 4 years being an up year that lands 5-12. Realistically it would be really tough to break into the top 5 without first parlaying this recruiting success into a top 8 team on the field consistently. Quote Link to comment
ScottyIce
I think we have to be in the top 20 every year with a top 15 class every 3 seasons. Quote Link to comment
In the Deed the Glory
First and foremost, we have to ALWAYS lead the B1G West. As others have said, I think we need to sprinkle in a top 12 class every 4 or 5 years with always being top 20 or so. More importantly is we have to address our needs with our highest rated recruits. RedDenver
I think our running 4 year average needs to be in the top 20, preferably in top 15. Quote Link to comment
Flat Water
12 - 18 every year is the expectation. Quote Link to comment
Redux
We should have been higher this year. But injuries that cut senior years short, biased star rankings and a sever case of Jamire Calvin pushed us down about 4 spots. Quote Link to comment
commando
1st nationally every damn year!!! not sure that would meet husker fan expectation or not...but it might get us close. Quote Link to comment

In an ideal world, I'd love to see Nebraska landing top 5 classes every year. In reality, top 20 is fine, obviously higher the better. With consistent top 20 classes we'll have players comparable to the best programs and we'll be better than 80% of the other teams just based on talent. Quote Link to comment
