He will be a good fill since Jacobson left. Only avg 14 mpg - is a great shot blocker and avid in the weight room

Yea he is more built than Jacobsen and that is really good. If this guy can get some semblance of a mid range game to compliment his post game that would be great. He seems to be a streaky scorer at times, but I think with his presence you will see us give up less threes in 2017. Since we did not have a good shot blocker when Morrow went down we always had to collapse inside when someone drove and then the other teams would get a wide open three. I bet this guy will come with energy off the bench and play great defense and hopefully our coaches can get him consistent offensively.
he's listed as 6'8" 230 and Jacobson was listed as 6'9" 239 so built wise, I'd say they're about the same. Either way, I hope he does well here.

Jacobson played some good ball while here, however this is a perfect example of weight not being created equally - plus his wing span will allow him to play closer to 6-10.

I'm not talking about his wingspan, hes gone and isnt contributing to the team anymore. I'm talking about a guy who put on close to 20lbs of lean muscle since his freshman year.

How can you be a 26.8% free throw shooter? Haha.

I don't care, welcome Doobie Okay-kay. Best name ever.

If Tim can get this kid to shoot a little over 50 percent from the line, that would be awesome. Can colleges do the hack a shaq technique, cause if they can, he is shooting extra free throws after every practice.

Superb name like you alluded to zoogs, now lets hope this kid gets a lot of blocks this year. In the last few years, I do not recall us blocking very many shots in games, but this guy can definitely do that!

I like the addition. He adds some depth and a rim protector.

Major concern is he is fouling machine as is Jordy. I fully expect both to be in foul trouble 90% of the game.

He wont score much but I dont mind him adding back up minutes.

How do you know he is a foul machine? I also think Jordy got better as the year went on. But also hope we pull in one more big, as we have 2 schollies to give.

Jacobson's skill set was always more of an outside shooter, we just had to have him play inside because we didn't have big guys. That's why he transferred, he didn't want to be a 5, he wanted to be a 3. He does have a mid range shot and an outside shot when needed.

Morrow on the other hand is built like a 3 but his skill set is that of a 4 or 5 so he is an odd fit. He's an inside player that's too small to be an inside player.

Duby Okeke will be a guy who comes off the bench to give Jordy rest or to play when Jordy gets in foul trouble. Like someone mentioned above, he will play limited minutes and will be a rim defending specialist for the slashers or the second chance rebounds. He's a big body for the paint meant to play defense.
