FrankWheeler
I don't even see Azubuike on any of the mock drafts, who is talking about Roby in the NBA? Quote Link to comment
Big red surfers
Been like this every year miles has been here. No bigs and zero outside shooters. 5 guys that can slash and shoot 10ft jumpers Quote Link to comment

Maybe folks at the local barbershop in Nebraska who don't follow the NBA. But once again, if you know anything about basketball, you'd know that frail backups that are playing out of position in college aren't your typical NBA prospects... An announcer who called one of our games this year, thinking Fran Fraschilla, said he thinks Roby has the tools to be an NBA player. It’s only one guy but he did say it. He has a looong way to go for that to happen. Quote Link to comment

I remember him saying on draft night that a guy was two years away from being two years away- which equaled to being 6 years away from being ready for the NBA. It was confusing and amusing all at once. He hypes up overseas guys a lot, but honestly, if they look good overseas why not tell it like it is? Anyway, Roby has a ways to go before we start talking NBA, let's start with getting him some points and a consistent jump shot before we start giving him NBA love. Quote Link to comment

For awhile, not sure if he still is, he was the international scouting guy. Roby has as much chance of playing in the NBA as I do...but anymore, playing overseas is a nice gig. I had a coaching friend/teaching friend that played for KU in the 80's then played on two 10 day contracts in the NBA but played for awhile in Brazil. He was making about really good coin out there plus all expenses paid. Now, that was only during the season but still. Quote Link to comment
SouthLincoln Husker
Roby is too thin to play center and should be playing forward. Jordy is terrible & Okie is a def. replacement. It is what we have. I just get frustrated watching players stand around 6' from the basket not trying to get a rebound. Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
I havent watched nearly as much Nebrasketball this year as past years, but that should pick up. I think Jordy will come around but we also need the coaches to be smart how they use him. I have liked what I have seen out of Duby so far, but the thing we lack down low is the guys who want the ball---What I mean by this is guys who will throw their bodies around to get rebounds. I disagree with a post above about Jacobsen being trash. He isnt trash and we miss some of that toughness he brought. He worked his butt off and honestly I wish that mentality was shared by some others. He was forced to play in a much bigger role than he was able to play but I still think he and Morrow could have helped this team. We need to find athletic bigs and stop worrying about height. I will take a 6'8 guy who can chase down boards and be able to guard someone who moves around. I think Jordy has shown moments but with this offense, he just isnt built to move around and his skills down low are too clumsy to run an offense through him. I like what Roby can do but like others mentioned his confidence and lack of "Killer instinct" will need to grow for him to be an elite player. I look at Shavon Shields as a good comparison. Shavon turned it on later in his career and I think Roby can as well. I dont think we need to move away from Jordy or Duby but we need to pick the spots. When the opposition puts in their bench, lets give jordy a chance to "bully" those guys. In crunch minutes I dont trust Jordy and we need to be ok with Roby/Copeland playing those minutes but need to fix our rebounding woes. Quote Link to comment

Heading into year six, Miles is on the hot seat. And while this schedule, featuring five home games against teams in the bottom 100, is designed to get Nebraska off to a winning start, it might take some upsets to get the Huskers back to March Madness. Nebraska’s exempt tournament is particularly tricky, as for the second year in succession, they’re participating in an ESPN event that features a local participant. Complicating matters, the Cornhuskers will play UCF on day one of 2017’s AdvoCare Invitational—while in 2016, their game with UCLA didn’t occur until the semifinal stage. https://www.teamrankings.com/ncaa-basketball/ranking/non-conference-sos-by-other Another sites take for this year..
