ajt1970
I've ALWAYS preferred the nickname Cornhuskers vs. Huskers. Glad someone in Nebraska feels the same way. :-) Hope NU gets back to that as far as branding and marketing...It's hard to find anything to buy (shirts, hats, etc.) with the full name Cornhuskers on it. Be who you are, be proud of the corn. 1 Quote Link to comment

commando
does that mean we have to change the Husker Power chant? 3 Quote Link to comment
Enhance
This is kind of a weird issue/debate to me. Samuel vs. Sam Terrapins vs. Terps Cornhuskers vs. Huskers It's a shortened version for the same thing. Fans aren't being untrue to themselves by saying "Huskers." 2 Quote Link to comment
zoogs
I am so sad that wasn't a Frost quote. "Be the Corn" would have been such a powerful rallying cry. Quote Link to comment
NM11046
I actually sent Moos an email shortly after he started about this very topic ... and I'm in CORNhuskers camp btw. 2 Quote Link to comment

84HuskerLaw
There is nothing wrong with using both names just as we do now. Huskers is great for cheers, etc. but Cornhuskers is our legacy and heritage and the team represents the state of Nebraska and derived its name from the crop which is the very lifeblood of the state's economy, etc. Without our irrigated corn, Nebraska would essentially be South South Dakota economically. There is nothing to be ashamed of and certainly much for all Nebraskans and Nebraska fans to be proud of. It is completely apolitical and represents the hard working productive people who annually harvest the most useful and valuable renewable commodity on the planet! 2 Quote Link to comment

The Scarlet Pimpernel
I prefer Cornhuskers, and the Herbie logo. I don't care for Huskers or the 'N' logo. Quote Link to comment

Redux
I associate Cornhuskers with championships, earn the name. That said, I almost never say "Cornhuskers". Edited February 28, 2018 by Redux Quote Link to comment
