former Detroit Lions player is going from the football field to the big screen with his latest venture.

Ameer Abdullah was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He played running back for the team from 2015 through 2018, and later went on to play for the Minnesota Vikings, the Carolina Panthers and the Las Vegas Raiders.

Now, Abdullah is trying his hand at acting — and has already landed a movie role among some A-list actors, and fellow athletes.

The 30-year-old Alabama-native will reportedly play “K-Money” in the forthcoming film “Break the Cycle,” which was written by former NBA player, Jarnell Stokes and will be directed by Josh Webber.

Meanwhile, former NFL tight end Vernon Davis will also appear in the movie, along with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Vivica A. Fox, and Cuba Gooding Jr.

According to Deadline, the urban thriller “delves into the lives of two brothers whose childhood is marred by a horribly tragic incident. Raised by their loving but stern grandmother, the brothers take radically different paths as they come of age in the gritty streets of Memphis."

“This film is a heart-pounding journey through the world of streetball that explores themes of family, ambition, and the moral complexities of urban life,” Stokes said in a statement. “It tells the story of navigating a treacherous path, an unfortunate reality for far too many young boys in our urban communities. I’m so excited to have Ameer as part of this tremendously talented group of actors who will help bring this project to life.”

Production for “Break the Cycle” is set to begin in March.

And....the big question is.....With all the crap that's going on with NIL, Transfer portal, recruiting...etc, why did they think these things were so important?  Who gives a rip if a school decorates the hotel room?

Why hasn't there been an organized breakaway for football from these clowns yet?  This is just beyond comical.  Make football it's own entity, with a commissioner, and let the NCAA run the other sports.  Go back to regional conferences for those.  It seems so simple to me. The idea of where to go I mean, not necessarily the implementation,  but how many other sports with this much money at stake have this figured out already?
