WyoHusker56
ACC has interesting language in there about the season being played over "at least 13 weeks" which leaves open room for the season to be extended if needed and then the also gave two dates for the CC game. Trying to build in some flexibility I'd guess which seems like what most conferences will need to do. MLB has shown you have to have something in place in cause you get a Marlins likes outbreak. BigRedBuster
Why is a 12 game all conference schedule so dangerous when many of these kids would typically be playing several preseason games a full 16 game season in the nfl next year? Some even then play post season games. If your concern is Covid, you really think two more games will make a big difference? 2 Quote Link to comment
nic
I will be happy to see 10 games. I hoping by the time we are done we get a championship game too. Quote Link to comment

I also don't understand why a spring season and a fall season is an outlandish suggestion due to wear and tear when a kid could go pro and play 16/19/22 games from September to January in the NFL. 24/26 ish games in 10 months versus 18/20 ish in 5. That’s less than 5% of all of the Big Ten rosters. I don’t think it’s smart to base rules or schedules based on what 5% of the roster may do next year in the NFL. Also, those 5% will be making a decent paycheck (assuming they make the roster) to offset the potential injuries and long-term implications of the long NFL season. 3 Quote Link to comment

With only 10 games you can space out the bye weeks to account for positive tests and necessary quarantine period to limit the amount of games a player or multiple players (in the case of an outbreak on a team) might miss should they contract COVID-19. 1 Quote Link to comment

So, we are going to have a bye week between each game? In a 10 game season, that's going to then take 20 weeks to play. If we start September 1st, that puts the last games towards the end of January. With a 10 game schedule you'd likely play 3 games and then a bye (and one instance of 2 games and a bye). Doing so would equal 3 byes over a stretch where the schedule runs from Sept 5 to Nov 28. Other alternatives exist for more 2 games and a bye if you start week 0 or August 29. 3 Quote Link to comment

Plus more bye weeks built into the schedule allows for schedule flexibility if a game needs to be postponed early in the season, and pushed back to later in the season. 2 Quote Link to comment
Toe
Do we know for certain that it will be a 10-game schedule? I know Moos was pushing for 12. Quote Link to comment

Won't be for sure until the schedule is released - should be in the next few days - but 12 seems pretty unlikely from what I've read. 1 Quote Link to comment
