This is an important thread to read.  It's rather chilling to think that something nafarious was going on and that the protection of the Capitol was delayed for so long. 

 

Why was it delayed? We were certifying a peaceful transfer of power and an insurrection was along to continue. 

 

Some say it was a peaceful protest and nothing to worry about despite what everyone witnessed.  And yet the military was concerned enough that they sent security forces to protect the homes of defense leaders two hours before attempting to address the insurrection going on at the Capitol.

The campaign shows the obsession that some of Trump’s allies had about a shadowy “deep state” trying to blunt his agenda — and the lengths that some were willing to go to try to purge the government of those believed to be disloyal to the president.

Central to the effort, according to interviews, was Richard Seddon, a former undercover British spy who was recruited in 2016 by security contractor Erik Prince to train Project Veritas operatives to infiltrate trade unions, Democratic congressional campaigns and other targets. He ran field operations for Project Veritas until mid-2018.

 

 

Last year, The New York Times reported that Seddon ran an expansive effort to gain access to the unions and campaigns and led a hiring effort that nearly tripled the number of the group’s operatives, according to interviews and deposition testimony. He trained operatives at the Prince family ranch in Wyoming.

The efforts to target American officials show how a campaign once focused on exposing outside organizations slowly morphed into an operation to ferret out Trump’s perceived enemies in the government’s ranks.

Whether any of Trump’s White House advisers had direct knowledge of the campaign is unclear, but one of the participants in the operation against McMaster, Barbara Ledeen, said she was brought on by someone “with access to McMaster’s calendar.”

The Dems need to do it wtout GOP support.  Time to do what is best for the country.  I think Don the Con has something on him.  Remember he blamed Donald for the insurrection immediately afterwards but then later walked back his words after visiting with him.    No doubt former AG Barr has a file on most of these guys.

if trump believed it was antifa on the day it happened...he would have called in all branches of the military to squash it as fast as he could tweet out the orders

What is really concerning about all of this is the message it sends to anyone wanting to try the same thing in the future. If they can do it without personally attacking anyone. they are basically immune to consequences if they fail. With no consequences, there is no reason not to make a bolder attempt.

 

There is a wannabe dictator out there salivating right now, and they may already be in the House or Senate.
