Madcows
Nice little shake up in the NFC, Lions are legit contenders to win the division. Browns and Jets big upset wins to give the first loss to the Eagles and 9ers. Lions staying under the radar and just playing good ball. Still think SanFran is the class of the NFC, and now see the Lions and Eagles on the same step, a step below them. Not sure who would be 4th in the NFC. AFC seems to be destined for a Dolphins/Chiefs showdown. Have no faith in the bills, or anyone else in the AFC to really have a legit chance. Of course all that could change with injuries or any pending trades. And somewhat related to injuries, had a friend snap his achilles tendon 10ish years ago, he was in a cast for 2 months. Pretty wild to hear that ARod was able to be in shoes walking around and throwing pregame today. The speed of improvements in medical procedures and recovery times is amazing. Quote Link to comment

BigRedBuster
Last week Peyton touched on this during the MNF game. The art of the play action fake has been totally lost. Yesterday, I was randomly watching the Eagles/Jets game. The QB actually tried faking a hand off to the RB and....the RB ran on the other side of him. LOL. QBs used to be much better at it. Guy Chamberlin
Niners vs. Cleveland = 25 penalties Chargers vs. Cowboys = 20 penalties Those were the only two games I watched this weekend, but what a horrible slog they were: you either saw the flag immediately and knew the play wasn't going to count, or witnessed an exciting play or first down and waited for it to be called back. In fairness, out of those 45 penalties, you could see most of the infractions clearly upon replay -- lots of straight up jersey grabbing and really blatant holds. Maybe four ticky-tacky or really questionable calls. So are players getting sloppier? Are refs cracking down on calls they didn't used to make? Both? It's not as fun to watch, that's for sure. 2 Quote Link to comment

Maybe he will be the one Ohio State "can't miss" quarterback to figure out reading defenses in the NFL. We have certainly been down this road before with Ohio State quarterbacks having tremendous college careers that put up short stinker NFL careers in the League. Someday draft experts like Mel Kiper have to stop hurting NFL franchises, because JT Barrett, Haskins, Fields were all "can't miss" evaluations. Always wondered if he got a kick-back from agents to hype them. CJ Stroud Justin Fields - sucked Dwayne Haskins - sucked Cardale Jones - sucked JT Barrett - sucked Braxton Miller - sucked Terrell Pryor - sucked Troy Smith - sucked Craig Krenzel - sucked 1 Quote Link to comment

Well said! I do remember thinking Braxton Miller probably had a better chance at Wideout. Same for Terell Pryor. I thought Jones might have a chance as well as Fields but we all know how that is going. Tyler Bagent actually was looking good...until that horrible interception at the end of the game against the Vikings. He starts at the Raiders this Sunday. He's a scrappy guy and total football junkie so I'm pulling for him to have a decent game in only his 2nd NFL game ever. Quote Link to comment
deedsker
To be fair to Terrelle Pryor, he was the best QB and WR on the 2016 Browns. He just couldn’t throw the ball to himself to prove it. Quote Link to comment

At the end of the day quarterback evaluations for the NFL are more luck than skill, and always have been. Quote Link to comment
