The probability of a recession has been getting lower lower. The Democrats have made lots of mistakes, including Biden and Clinton being the best candidates they could come up with. If some polls are accurate and Trump is slated to win the National popular vote by 2-4%, Minnesota is probably just out of reach for Trump. In any case, a political environment where Trump wins that national popular vote by 2-4% means he's won a monumental Electoral College victory. An electoral environment where Trump actually wins Minnesota - which is possible if the United States enters a recession by September - it would mean an electoral college victory so astounding that the Democratic Party would have to completely reorient itself and become something new.
