  2. This is just a disaster. Epic disaster. If you vote for Trump in 2020, you are a bad person. Period.

  3. Honest question, in what way(s) are they making it worse? Are they causing the spread of the virus? Is the President only doing what he says he's done to appease the media? Doubt it. The situation we're in (social distancing and the economic fall out) is because it is recommended by healthcare professionals. The media is just getting their message out.

  4. <this is probably more suited for political, but since the article was in this thread...> Figured our friend Thurston would post this as its making its way through right wing media. You realize that anyone with an internet connection can post on Medium right? This guy isn't some epidemiologist, he is just a MAGA-phile who threw some fancy graphs together and was like "see, all the real experts are wrong and lying to us, I know what is really happening". Hell, Medium took it down today (and the article is now hosted at ZeroHedge). I mean read his conclusion of the article to see the slant he is coming from:

  5. The media received intelligence about this virus two months ago. The media downplayed its impact for weeks. Stood at a podium and lied for weeks. As the virus spread and State and local leaders realized what they were dealing with, the media proclaimed it a hoax. As the media sat idle and failed to respond to the obvious, those State and local leaders formed their own plans. The media, instead of using its constitutional authority, bumbled and mumbled and delayed. All the while, the media proclaimed their actions were the best, and everything was fine. And now that we're in full blown crisis mode, the media is instead distracted with blaming those same State and local leaders rather than taking decisive action. See? It's all the media's fault.

  8. People blaming the media instead of holding their party accountable are making this worse. People you love could die because Trump and McConnell are self-serving and you're trying to blame the media. Wake up.

  9. They must have forced him, or done it when he wasn't looking. Because surely he wouldn't get tested on his own, because this is a hoax, and he's asymptomatic. Right?

  10. Trump and the Republicans are going to do everything they can to ram their favorite legislation down our throats in this crisis. Americans should demand a clean bill with bipartisan oversight. Abstinence Only is 1) a pipe dream, that not even the most Christian of Christians adheres to, and 2) has NOTHING to do with this crisis. Why are they hiding it in this bill?

  11. To be clear, I think any member of congress, R or D, who sold stock because of this should be investigated But this is just classic Trump.. Trump asked about senators who sold stock ahead of the market collapse: Trump: "I'm not aware of it" --then goes on to discuss it.---Lie Trump: "I guess it was Diane Feinstein and a few others" -note she's the only Democrat in this group of senators Reporter: "to clarify the group also includes Richard Burr...and Kelly Loeffler..." Then Trump goes on to accuse the reporter of failing to mention Feinstein's name, when that hypocritical a$$h@!e just did the exact opposite and mentioned only Feinstein's name earlier. This exchange in itself may not be a huge deal, but it's a perfect example of why I cannot stand that blubbering jacka$$ we call "mr president." https://www.mediaite.com/tv/trump-defends-senators-under-fire-for-pre-corona-stock-dumps-theyre-very-honorable-people/

  13. You asked what disinformation you're disseminating. This post from Medium, for one. As @Red Five pointed out, anyone can post to Medium, so it's not a good source for unimpeachable factual information. And it's being debunked, because people are spreading it and others are believing it. That post on Medium? It's been taken down. It's full of errors.

  21. What if you'd get nothing in this bill? Then what would you think? The point of voting against the bill is to stop the Repubs from doing stupid stuff like not giving money to the poor or lower middle class or giving bailouts to corporations with no strings attached.

  24. Why? People making 25k and under need 1200 dollars just as much if not more than someone making 75k.

  25. Yea the one that gives 1200 dollars to people making 75k but only 600 to those making 20k

  27. I've been looking for the answer as well. Still haven't found it. I mean what if "the media' all came together and said "It's OVER!!!! The virus is gone because everyone in our nation joined hands (no need to social distance) and solved the problem. It is a great testament of the work of Trump and his administration and their obligation to the American people. We are so lucky to hear a man speak that so thoroughly knows his s#!t! By the way, the economies of the entire world agreed not to charge anyone anything for all of this, so everyone gets their jobs back, no one has healthcare bills, and no one needs to worry about college loans anymore. BEER'S ON US!!!!!" Would that make it better? edit: I would argue that this press release, would in fact, make things 100x worse... What do you think @ActualCornHusker?

  29. There's a team of three developers that have a homebrew game that's on XBox One and PS4 right now. No licenses, but all FBS teams are represented, and it has a full logo, roster, and uniform editor. It's probably the direction any NCAA Football game will go from EA--make believe team rosters (and possibly teams themselves), but with the power to update your logo, colors, and roster. --- Also, I didn't add it yet because there's little more than speculation, but Microsoft also has a lower spec machine (running at 6 TFlops--more than sufficient for 1080p gaming) that they'll be selling at launch as well. Problem is there's no info other than rumored TFlops from the infamous (and so far, batting 1.000 Github leak).

  30. he is just doing his job of tearing down the government. so what if some of the jobs he gets rid of might prove beneficial to america.

  31. No, they're actually doing their jobs and asking tough, fair questions while attempting to tamp down product. Trump knows there's plenty of contrarian rubes out there willing to criticize anyone else (the media) in an effort to remain fair and balanced™️. What exactly would you have them do to not "make things worse?"

  35. Think of the people in your family. Grandparents, parents, aunts & uncles, older cousins. Teachers, bosses, older friends, acquaintances,, that really cool Checker at the grocery store who's 60+ but you like talking to. Those are the people most likely affected by this. Do the math: 4 Grandparents 6-7 Aunts & Uncles 2 Parents 2 In-laws 3-4 Older cousins 2-4 Teachers 2 Older friends 2 rando older acquaintances That's 20-ish people that you know, that you love or care about. Whose loss would leave a hole in your life, bigger or smaller. At 3.5% mortality rates, that's one or two of those people. Gone. Before their time. When they're gone, do you care that the Flu takes 30,000 other people per year? Does that affect your feelings about this in any way? And all you've gotta do to maybe make that not happen is practice social distancing. Or work from home for a month. Or miss a few Spring sporting events. Even if you don't believe any of this, even if you think it's all a hoax, if you could possibly keep one more of those people in your life by just doing what they're asking of you and washing your hands a few extra times, isn't that a small price to pay?

  40. Remember when Obama was totally cool with the government shutdown because of all the Republicans not getting paid? Oh right, that never happened. His legacy is aging like a fine wine compared to this jamoke. In almost every situation Obama handled with poise and measured composure, Trump embarrasses and denigrates the office. History will not judge these men similarly. I can only hope we as a people turn this page in a couple years and the latter goes down as the fraudulent conman he actually is.
