For most of my life I never understood why Easter floated around so much. Not only different weeks, but sometimes different months. Then I found out from one of my kid's picture books. Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox. Turns out it has much more to do with existing pagan rituals than it does Christianity. In other news, we just hid Easter eggs for our 20 year old son home for Spring Break. They are plastic and filled with money. Felt good. I like Easter.

I feel marginalized and excluded. I didn’t see any heterosexual or cisgender days on that laundry list of special days. And here’s some As long as we regularly highlight our differences, we will struggle to have true equality. There are special days and awards for everything except for the predominant majority demographics. Is it really amazing that people in the predominant majority groups are sort of fed up? I realize some minority groups have been marginalized but I’m not convinced constantly pointing out every difference is the best way for everyone to be truly treated as equals.

Maybe when you have churches, governments, and citizens actively railing against being a cis gender male we can have a day of recognition. In a perfect world, sure we would celebrate everyone equally and live happily ever after, but that's not where we live...

I don't think this is "outrage" I think this is a person changing their mind (something that many posters here think can't happen) I disagree with Jenner and like all normal people was able to get through my day with no crying or whining...but Jenner felt differently and that is okay.

I don't have a chart or graph but out here in Omaha things that were never locked up before and were never behind plastic are now locked up and are now behind plastic. I can only imagine two reasons for that. 1. Because they were getting ripped off 2. Because they are taking preventative measures to not get ripped off. I know, I know...I have not been to every single store in Omaha and I know, i know, this is anecdotal. But this probably includes at 10 different stores. Walmart and Target stores only. I have not seen this done at HyVee, because at Hy-Vee they are the ones doing the ripping off.

Agree 100% It’s why I have zero problems with Biden, or any POTUS, declaring a day to recognize people’s contributions who have been seen as “unequal” by many people in our society . Isn’t it crazy that the folks who started this social media uproar are also generally the same people that claim transsexuals are abominations and that they often deserve ridicule? Spend time with your family and thank your lucky stars that they are welcomed enough walking down the street that normal folks don’t feel the need to point out their importance to haters.

I do not! Westboro deserves it all. Unfortunate about the children being brainwashed just as their parents before them. May Fred Phelps rot. Think there’s a few gay pride houses in the same neighborhood in Topeka still but I haven’t driven through for a few years. We also had a student who was in the church as well. I suppose we are all just victims of our surroundings.

I totally get what you are saying but could that just be your area? Like, maybe other areas are lower? I have no idea. I know Omaha is brutal. If I was looking to buy a house right now in Omaha I would rather just join a Pro-Pally group instead.

It was sort of anti-dormie? We started it by throwing snowballs at the first few floors of windows on Pound. Yeah I know that doesn’t count. There was some big Iranian student protest where they were marching down 17th or 16th or Q street. I totally missed it. Rabble rouser

It was a good win. They played clean on defense and what seems to be the norm, they did just enough offensively to win and with Oklahoma getting swept by Lamar this weekend enough to be ranked. Getting ranked is not a good thing for this team. Yes, I think Northwestern will surprise a couple teams in conference play but Nebraska is not playing like a top 25 team. They are giving up late inning runs, the fielding % is lacking and the team is winning shakingly. (All Huskers fans this weekend found ourselves begging for the win in all 3 games.) There is loads of reason for optimism though. This team just grinds. The pitching staff is deeper than projected and Bolt is allowing the base coaches to coach. The small ball play has been better than advertised. All of that is on the Staff and Players. Buckle Up folks, it's getting more real with each game. Tuesday's game against a red hot, very good Creighton team will be the Huskers best test to date Congrats to BIG RED, the team and the fans!! Let's keep it going. Very tough week ahead!!!!

I just like how this team seems to find ways to win. Sometimes it is offensive explosion, others it’s great pitching, other times it’s taking what the other team gives you and taking advantage of it, and sometimes luck. Regardless, they are winning games.

For the 2nd time this weekend, KP comes through in the clutch. He gets us out of 8th… 1-2-3 in 9th and 10th.

Yeah, I guess I expressed my frustration with the proclamation because of which voters it could potentially alienate but my real frustration is with a country that advertises liberty and justice for all but a rather large subset of the people just don’t f#&%ing get it.

Meh….to me there’s a big difference between picturing the justice system putting him in jail compared to picturing Biden obviously being abducted by civilians and throwing him in the back of a pickup. One depicts the system to do it. The other motivates vigilantes to take care of it. And, we’ve already seen that he can motivate them to do bad things.

Just watched a few protests in regards to backwater Missouri/Westboro preachers that came to Pittsburg State. Pretty hilarious how mad people get about others expressing views which you can simply walk away from. /I was also once handed a stack of textbooks by a traveling monk on campus on the way to my O-Chem class. Funny times!

I thought this only happened in California because we were soft on crime. Fun fact: I had to buy a diuretic at Walgreens for my colonoscopy (anyone else here over 50?) and discovered that unlike all sorts of over-the-counter medications, the diuretics were kept locked up. Why? I asked. High school girls who wanted to lose weight shoplifted them out of shame.
