  1. The film looks solid, but he's only 6'2" and 210? This dude will get bullied in the run game unless he puts on some weight.
  2. The playcalling this year has been downright odd. Today was a great example of that. Last season, we seemed so sharp and got into great rhythms. I think a lot of this year's weirdness came from personnel issues and a massive regression in qb play.
  3. If Martinez just goes down in bounds, this game is in OT. The play calling was wacky, Martinez was and has been horrid, we're just a damn mess. Guess we'll try again next year.
  4. It's not that I don't think he'll be drafted - I think he goes in round 6 or 7. I just don't think he's great. He's adequate, but he's not a guy that jumps out on film or a guy you have to game plan around. He and SJB are similar caliber players - though I think SJB was better going the other way after picking the ball off. Let's be honest, SJB in the second round was a mistake.
  5. Not a chance in hell. 21 will not be drafted in the first 5 rounds.
  6. This offense is literally built for less talented teams, to a degree. Certainly needs a capable QB with decent mobility and better decision making. It's a spread option team, for the most part, built on finding numbers advantages with crafty pre snap motions and efficiently making reads. We run the triple option offense from the shotgun, with some modern flare and downfield passing. Again, it's about reading the defense efficiently. Really, it's a fun offense to watch when it's humming. We just don't have that McKenzie Milton type guy just yet to put this thing into hyperspeed. We'll hit on a QB eventually - could be Luke or could be Smothers. Smothers has a ton of McKenzie Milton in him from the film I've seen. Let Frost continue to recruit to this scheme and we're going to be fine. The offense works a little better without the cutesy situational gaffes, but I respect the fact that Frost is still learning too.
  7. Frost does not need to change his offensive scheme. It can and does work in the Big 10 - look at Ohio State. Hell, look at us in the last half of last season. Just like any offense, you need to execute.
  8. Just the dumbest f#&%ing thread. We just lost to a putrid 2-6 Purdue team and let their 3rd string QB orchestrate a long, game winning TD drive. This team f#&%ing sucks and we will lose every game left on the schedule.
  9. I'm of the opinion that new coaches should be given run way. That being said, Chin's defense f#&%ing sucks.
  10. Everytime I see one of these posts, it makes me think of a s#!tty parent desperately lobbing empty threats at their kid hoping to change their behavior. We shouldn't end the sellout streak. We should calm the f#&% down, understand that this is year 2 of a complete rebuild and enjoy watching the process. People that crashed from their offseason sugar high dreams need to embrace reality and show a little patience. Our unity is our strength. We need everyone in this thing pulling in the same direction, fans included. The rest of this season is going to be bumpy. Sit back, enjoy the good, don't let the bad f#&% up your week and look forward to brighter days.
  11. We should absolutely not be doubting Frost. This roster is, currently, ugly and it's going to take a complete 4 year roster flip to see where this thing is really heading. I'm of the opinion that this offense is going to be fun to watch in the next couple years. This staff will continue to bring in Wan'Dale Robinson kind of skill players - can't wait to see it develop!
  12. Sucks to see Huskerboard become an ad ridden mess. I've been a member here forever, but these ads are unbearable.

/r/huskers is about to get wayyy more traffic.

  13. s#!tty weather and us potentially starting a back up QB looks great for the under.
  14. I'm excited to see what Vedral can do this week if Adrian isn't a go. Vedral has some swagger to him. He played quick and decisive.
  15. I think Wan'Dale might be good.
  16. If they were to legalize pay for play, you bet your a$$ we'd be back in a jiffy.
  17. Ah, yes. The ol oversimplification of our issues - one of my favorites. OP, go back and rewatch the game. Chase Young lived in the backfield, as did the rest of the Buckeye DL. If you can't protect, especially against 3-4 rushers, while everyone else drops back into coverage, then you're going to have a bad time.
  18. Game 5 of year 2 and we're calling for firings already? Jesus f#&%ing christ, what fantasy world do you live in? We cant fire our way out of this and doing so would set us back. We need continuity, maturation and a few more recruiting classes. Above all, we need patience from fans and media. This thing was never going to be built overnight. We have glaring depth issues that were very seriously exposed last night.
