First "Date" what did you do?
I think I saw "The Cutting Edge" and then tried to make the magic happen in my Saturn.

Went to see the movie Career Opportunities. I still don't know how that movie ended.
-
6th grade. Flinstones movie. My friend's girlfriend was trying to set up her friend. I think the nice way of saying it is she had a great personality. I heard she liked me but there was no 2nd date.
-
Went to see toy story with my girlfriend and her mom and brother. We ended up making out in the parking lot when her mom and brother went to go get something from the gas station. She is not the library teacher at our old high school and i saw her when i took my daughter there for orentation.

Anyone else have a light in their house that you can't believe has not burnt out yet? (No, this is not some trick to talk about a bad marriage)

Few years back a Bag and Save (I think it was that store) was going out of business or moving locations. Anyway, everything in the store was 50% off, including booze. They had a nice selection. So, if booze is 50% off, how much do you think you would spend? I spent 100 dollars that day.

$500. At least.
-
I wish I would have spent more, 500 would have been smart.
-
Depending on what they have in stock, I'm probably spending at least $200 and if they have some top notch, hard to find stuff including wine, I'm going $500+.

Would you take a vacation out of the country within the next 3 months?

If i can get a good deal, absolutely. I have already had it and getting my vaccination. My wife just got her second round of the vaccine, so we are good to go.

@swmohuskerIf you do, one piece of advice - Puerto Vallarta was VERY sneaky about how they announced their effectual two-week closure of all tourism activities, clubs, bars, public events, etc. Only restaurants were staying open. I only found out about it because I was reading through their government tourism site and they had a little blurb update about it. We had friends who were still going to go and three days before their trip they had no idea. It was almost like PV was trying to announce the closure with as little publicity as possible so that some foreign travelers would miss it and still come visit.

Would like to in May. Got married during the pandemic and never got to give the wife a honeymoon - would be a great way to end 14+ months of being stuck inside.

What did you see as the going rate for shoveling? On the nextdoor app in my neighborhood it was 40-50 dollars.

I loved snow days as a kid, grab a shovel and your buddies and make some cash
-
Well, 20 years ago, we had a kid up our street who would shovel everything for I think around $15. That was his going rate for mowing, too... something like $15 to mow, $20 to bag. Based on how the costs of virtually everything else has increased during that time, something around $40 would seem fair.
-
Our minimum for sidewalk shoveling/blowing is $65, if it's more than the minimum we charge $0.29/ linear foot, based on a 4 ft. sidewalk, driveways, we measure. That's up to 8".... We'd be making a killing if we were in Nebraska this week.
We don't get that kind of snow often here.... Our minimum for lawn service is $40/per, so @Enhance is on the money there....

You are tasked with choosing a movie that will be remade. What movie and why?
- Show previous comments 2 more

JAWS
And I would make him a friendly shark, a Disney production, and you could swim with him. And he would help you rescue people. Plus the music undertones would be different too...
Why? Because I'm still slightly paranoid in the ocean deeper than 3 feet!
(Although you could do a super terrifying JAWS remake as well!!!) -
I wanna say something like The Never-ending Story but I'd probably screw it up
-
I'd like to see some of the classic Disney movies remade into the darker stories they were based on.

Name one thing you use sugar cubes for, not including sweating your drink.

Do they still make sugar cubes? I haven’t seen one in about 45 years and I don’t recall why my mom even used to have them. Maybe to sweeten the Sanka
-
I hand them out to children from my windowless van. Why?

I have never watched Eddie and the Cruiser II: Eddie Lives.
But I am watching it right now...My review would be...I wish Eddie really did die in that car accident.

The music is good...the first one is really cool.
I think the second one, at the time, had one of the biggest budgets ever and has a huge flop.

My god, it keeps getting worse!

Favorite breakfast place? My old favorite, was Bakers! Any of you ever hit that up back in the day. Cheap, tons of food, soooooo good.

Its Louie M's then Lisa's then Leo's(RIP) then I don't really care.

Yes to Bakers (especially if you had kids) SO cheap to eat there.) Their biscuits and gravy were excellent.

Anyone ever do a blind taste test, if so, how did you do?
- Show previous comments 1 more

I remember doing a few whisky ones.. also remember being to slobber knocked to actually tell the difference. At that point they all tasted the same.
-
Have never done an official blind taste test, although Pepsi v Coke would be incredibly easy to tell the difference. Have done quite a bit of blind drunk tasting, back in the day....
-
I did and the all flavors of blind people depend on what soap they use.

Probably the weirdest one I ever got was from a bunch of Nebraska players in 71ish when I was just a little kid. I went to one of their tour Nebraska deals and I wasn't prepared to get autographs but I was wearing this dorky army green bucket cap so had them sign that. Maury Damkrogger, Frosty Anderson, Van Brownson, Johnny Rodgers, Bill Kosch, Joe Blahak, Woody Cox, Bill Olds are the ones I remember being signed. Tagge was there but IIRC he had a long line and I was going for quantity not quality. That cap has been gone a long long time.

Coach Kevin over at Arizona just got the greatest gift...getting paid to not work. Congrats!

Could you imagine if someone asked you where they could watch Tyson v Jones for free...I mean...gosh what would you tell them?

They called that a draw? I was figuring on Jones getting an easy win with Tyson being out so long, but that was aaallll Tyson.
