    It's an unfortunate situation for the guy, but you don't want to be committing any recruiting violations. If that's an NCAA violation, then so be it. Some things are more important than football and WAY more important than silly rules. Perhaps an appropriate response would be to use this event as a catalyst to donate to a local hospital? My guess is the only reason you know of this guy is because of the recruiting process, that doesn't mean there aren't other needs out there. It sucks that there's potential for stuff like that to be a recruiting process, but rules and rules and sometimes you just have to abide by them.

    We need to win as many games as Michigan wins. The official magic number for us winning games is 3. Usually when you talk about magic numbers though you're talking about a combination of Husker wins and other teams losses. The problem is, that there are other teams besides Michigan involved. I think my math below is correct for total number of husker wins/other teams losses needed to put us in the CCG. Michigan magic number 3 Northwestern magic number 2 Iowa magic number 1 or 2 depending on our performance against them. The other teams are out of the picture.

    Today's interaction of note in Lansing. Talking to a MSU fan I had been chatting with off and on all game. Me: Tough loss, good luck the rest of the season. Them: How can you say something like that after this (proceeds to chew me out).

      Yeah, she was really nice while they were winning. Rest of the folks around me were really nice though. Overall: better than WI fans, worse than MI fans. From the big 10 away games I've been to.

    I had a pretty good view of it at the game (TV viewers had better, but whatever). In my opinion, the officiating was horrible all game. Might have been pay back for the bs out of bounds hit called on us earlier.

    At this point in my life cost/location. Last season I was able to get to 3 games for ~80 a ticket. Had places to stay each place so it was doable. This season going to one game, mainly because it's close and cheap. Once I'm done being a student, I imagine it will be more of who I can get to go with me.

    I'm bringing three of us. Have one extra ticket if anyone wants it and is up for hanging out with strangers (but husker fans). Tickets in the section I was looking at went for 38 a piece if you bought 3, or 18 a piece if you bought 4...so I bought 4.

    I found a deal on stubhub for what sounds like pretty decent seats. However if I wanted to pay under 30 dollars for the seats, I had to buy 4 (I'm going with 2 other folks). Consequently there's now an open seat with our group which includes 2 husker fans and one michigan fan who's engaged to a husker fan. I bought the tickets for 18 a piece plus shipping and handling. Hoping to recoup my cost and get more huskers in the stadium. Similar tickets were going for ~35 a piece on stubhub as of 10/30/12

    This type comment is not okay. If this were my son, I would take a great deal of offense to it. Comment on the situation, not the person. Recruits read these pages. I am going to ban your account for 7 days. Spread the word, wiseguy comments need to and are going to come to a stop. Am I the only one that finds this quote ironic in light of the fact that the thread title contains "the person's" name? How does one not comment about a person when said person is the topic of the thread? Easy, F**K this situation. Not F**K this player. It sucks that he decommited, but it sounded mutual.

    I doubt the same thing is going to happen against Michigan. Miller > Dennard OSU's D > Michigans D by far. Whole new ball game. Personally, I think this season is playing out about how we should have suspected it would. We have a good (error prone) offense and a D with no real play makers. As for the recruits, there's a few ways I think they fall. Those that like the program and the culture and see that they can step in and help the team, or those that want to join a team that always wins and want to be a part of a system. It doesn't hurt to have players see that they could be stars on a team. At least that's what I think.

    My honest to god thoughts are this. First, UCLA has a damn good offense. Second, the B1G looks bad this year. Third, the problem's we're seeing are fixable (tackling, sticking to the run). The offense when clicking looks great, the D came up with some big stops (once in a while). It could be worse, and I'm optimistic about the rest of the season.

    It's hard to break old habits, I think as he gets more reps in in practice he'll get better and better at not dropping into bad habits.
