Triaging the QB room

I know I said this earlier in this thread, but Nebraska needs to go after Kaidon Salter.  He plays the exact style that Rhule wants and is a winner.  I recommend watching this video on mute. :)

I agree.  Said this a week or 2 ago.  Dude can play.  Almost 60% on the season.  23 TD's to 3 INT's, 664 yards rushing.  NIL him and offer their OC Willy Korn....Just get it done.

Going to be tough as there is only so much room on the roster for qbs.

Sims will be let out of his scholly, so he will be gone. Tell Haarberg he’s moving to TE. Purdy may be willing to stick around because he may not have many options to play anywhere. That leaves Kaelin coming in as a true freshman, and best case 2 transfer QB’s.

Obviously. A QB that is better than the current one on any team would make any team's receivers better. But that wasn't the point of the exchange I had with the other poster.

The point I was making is that it'll be hard to draw in a pass-first guy with the receiver corps we have.

We wound up with Sims because Sims couldn't get any better offers - and Sims' play is really bad. Definitely worried that Rhule brings in another sub-par player like Sims for next year, big concern.

Was it Rhule pushing for Sims or Satterfield?  I agree the decision to bring in Sims was a bad one but I am hopeful they will have more time to consider better options for next season.

Just because Rhule whiffed on Sims doesn’t mean he will do it again with another transfer QB or two. Rhule knows his team needs better QB play and he needs to do whatever it takes to get that better talent.

I like HH at WR and he could come in as a wildcat QB or for trick plays as well.

Yes, I'm aware that past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.

Yep, and I'm sure that was his exact mindset roughly 10 months ago and here we are. So you can see why I'd be worried that it might happen again. I didn't say "I'm positive he'll f*** it up again," I said the possibility worried me.

I don't see haarberg changing positions next year.  He seems to be a guy Rhule likes at qb.

Rhule is saying things to get thru this year and to try and get Haarberg to play better this year. You are probably right, but I don’t see Haarberg being a viable QB. Rhule likes his competitive spirit, but Haarberg is not a QB.

Part of me agrees with you, but NU isn’t deep enough at RB, and just can’t line up and run at defenses to move the ball down the field.  There are things I don’t like about Satt, but he’s trying to get chunk plays out of the passing game to move the ball down field.

Right, cant we just run short yard reeds where there accuracy seems to bet better.

I agree, Haarberg is not a D1 QB.  Plus, if he wants a dual threat QB, he will need 3 that can play. I'm not big on Purdy, but he deserves a chance to start.

We have the worst group of QBs in the history of college football. It blows my mind that we. An have so many good things happening that we should be winning games…..but, the one position that touches the ball in every play can not stop doing the dumbest damn s#!t.
