Heard one of my favorites today which got me thinking of others.  Here are a few of mine 

1) Turn the Page by Metallica

2) Knocking on Heavens Door by GNR

3) All along the Watchtower by Jimi
4) Cry Little Sister and Sweet Dreams are Made of this by Marilyn Manson

5) Zombie  by Bad Wolves

 

Losing my man card on this one buuuuuut

6) I will always love you by Whitney Houston.   Man could she sing.

Definitely two at the top.  And while we're on Metallica: Whiskey in a Jar (which I didn't know was a cover until just now).

Roy was good too. Maybe cuz I saw VH live with DLR twice.

I have to concur with all of these (although I don’t think I’m familiar with MM’s version of Cry little Sister). Also @DevoHusker Cocker’s With a Little Help From My Friends.

And this one is a little out there and maybe not better than the original but excellent in it’s own way-

I've always been obsessed with this Linkin Park cover of Nine Inch Nails' 'Wish'

 

 

 

 

 

And as much as I love the original as a staple of 90s alternative gold, this pop punk cover of 'Torn' by Natalie Imbruglia really hits for me.

That is a hottttt take. The Sinead O'Connor version of the Prince cover is basically perfect.

 

I love and I mean love Otis Redding but the Aretha Franklin cover of "Respect" is just better.

 

Also Jeff Buckley's version of "Hallelujah" is incredible
