huskeraddict
In the video above it says they are planning to wrap up the expansion about July 1st, so there is still 3 months before they would likely start doing the turf. And I think we also discussed before that it doesn't take more than a month to complete so nobody freak out yet. REPLACE THE TURF! BO MUST GO! Quote Link to comment

Count 'Bility
It would make sense to replace it this year, to coincide with the completion of the east stadium expansion. And sound system improvements too. 1 Quote Link to comment

KJ.
An engineering buddy of mine works for the company that installed the turf last time and said he hasn't heard anything from the AD about replacing it. So it won't be this summer. Quote Link to comment

Hooked on Huskers
It worries me that we haven't heard any official word on this because of how desperately the field needs replaced. Resurrect natural vs. fake turf arguments. Myself, I love natural grass........soft, cool temperature, nice odor, and some more. See Hawks field, Lambeau, Owens (OU), Touchdown Jesus, etc, etc, Quote Link to comment
Jaybird
I still say the next expansion should lower the field bringing in the seating to closer to the sidelines making the stands to run parallel to the sidelines rather than the rounded effect seen now (like OK St and OU etc) and then you could put more suites right on the field in the endzones etc. This would put more people in the stadium, make those seats right behind the benches better and allow for suites to be put right on the field etc. More money, better fan experience etc. When they replace the turf just lower the field several feet and make it so! There's not enough room on the endzone sides to add anything; the edges of the grandstands are already right up against the back edges of the field. Quote Link to comment

Ok so we can scrap the suites in the endzones idea if they can't fit the suites under the stands, but I still say we do the rest. Quote Link to comment

Then the problem you run into is that a lot of the endzone seats (and we have more endzone seats than sideline ones) can't see the corners of the endzone from where they're sitting. If we lower the field, for example, the entire North stadium won't even be able to see a play that happens in the back of the north endzone. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
No new turf this year. Coming out next year, as reported by Sean Callahan: @Sean_Callahan Needs to happen now RT @TerryBankson: The turf professor giving us a presentation right now said the stadium turf will come out next summer.
