SIGNED WR Jordan Westerkamp

Personally, I think the longer he waits to decide, the more likely he is to chose ND. His Mother has more time to push him toward ND. Just a guess. Hope I am wrong.

I could post every day if I had a "guess". My "guess" would be that we would have other offers out there to receivers if Bo and company felt Jordan was going elsewhere. There are always "others" in the wings ... but from what I've seen we aren't chasing other WR's at this time ... from what I've read atleast. I think I'll sit tight and let the process occur before I get my flesh all worked up.

At present, he is committed to the Huskers and from what I understand we are in contact with him and their is an open relationship between all involved. Sounds good to me.

That's pretty much what it is at this point is a guess. Just the same as your take. A guess.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but watching the Packers today, I was struck by the similarities between Westerkamp and Jordy Nelson.

Wondered if others saw this as well...................??

They're both white? Yeah, I saw that.

nah.........................they both have good size, athleticism, speed and and play in space............................color irrelevant......................hard to believe that is the first comparison someone would jump to........

Wow, my original intent was to simply point out that physically .............the tape of Westerkamp is eerily similar to the play of Jordy Nelson and that was reinforced today as I watched the Packers.

But now this thread is veering off target because a number of posters can't see beyond race..................so I'll drop it...........

Westerkamp - 6'1", 190 lbs

Nelson - 6'3", 217 lbs.

They're nothing alike - Nelson had to wear purple in college. Westerkamp gets to wear Red (**checking over shoulder**)

We got a little bit of help as ND has a couple coaches leaving to OSU to be with Urb. They are moving their DB coach to be OC. He's their RC but he's known as a defensive specialist even though he's been a head coach at lower levels. He's someone Kelly trusts and has been on his staffs in the past. It tells me Kelly feels he needs a guy he can trust and I hope that means he feels like next year needs to be the make it or break it season. I don't know what that means on offense. I assume Kelly is pretty much the mastermind so it should stay the same but who knows. Anyway . . .I doubt either coach leaving (both offense; RB and OL) had much to do with his recruitment but it might create some doubt as to the longevity of the staff and if they are feeling pressure to win big next year.

I am really starting to wonder if ND will take a committment from Jordan now. When this whole thing started going down it was when their stud WR recruit Greenbury was starting to look around. He now is supposedly solid. ANd if you look at how many schollies they have left closer to five than the 6-7 a lot are saying, and what they are still in are and what needs they need to address, I am seriously wondering if JW has seen he was nothing more than an emergency plan if Greenbury flipped to USC.

Again the longer this goes the better for Nebraska

Nothing would make me happier than for him to feel like ND only wanted him as a plan B or C. But I still don't think that is the case. They'll have their guys transferring over the next couple of weeks and I look for Kelly to run a couple of guys out like he did at Cinci each year.

Wouldn't be shocked one bit if/when he does. Again the longer it takes I like NU, however I know JW has said he doesn't want it to prolong too long to hinder either schools recruiting. BK better get that pink slip paper handy

Any recruit should question ND's stability as a football program. Looking at their schedule, a multiple loss season is very possible.
