Omaha-Husker
What happened to bowl games on New Year's Day? Do they not do that anymore? New Years Day is a Sunday. Quote Link to comment
It'sNotAFakeID
I submit to you Oklahoma is the 2010 Nebraska Baylor got the same treatment this year. They both have to play crappy 7-5 teams. And Baylor has to play Washington! Quote Link to comment

huKSer
Love how Herbstreit declared outrage about VT getting in the Sugar Bowl over KSU, Baylor and Boise State, asking if it had come down to fan support these days. News flash: it's always been that way. Money talks. Why does he think all of these games have corporate sponsors obscuring the traditional bowl name? You mean it wasn't always the Capital One Bowl? JJ Husker
What happened to bowl games on New Year's Day? Do they not do that anymore? New Years Day is on a Sunday this year. There's this little thing called the NFL that kind of controls football on Sundays. Quote Link to comment
VA Husker Fan
How does Michigan get a BCS game over Michigan St? This all seems dumb to me. Money is all that matters. At #15 in the BCS standings, Michigan St simply wasn't eligible for a BCS bowl. Michigan probably is taken over them anyway for reasons others gave, but it just wasn't even a possibility for MSU. mrandyk
This year's bowl schedule is looking incredibly uninteresting. The BCS bowls are an absolute joke this year. The Rose and Fiesta are respectable and worth watching, but those other three are a shame. Quote Link to comment
flatwaterfan
I think they need to drop the 'sponser' bowl names and go with how the Rose Bowl does it.... Rose Bowl presented by Visio. Sounds better than Meineke Care Care Bowl of Texas. I don't like rematches in college football. I would rather they play new teams. I agree B1G needs to win the SEC matchups. That helps recruiting Quote Link to comment
n.e.husker
Well the smack talk has started between my younger brother and I. He is a current undergrad student at USC. He really has lost some confidence in the gamecocks since the loss of Latimore, however their defense is very talented and athelitic. We will both be trying to make it to Orlando. WoodyHayes1951
The bowl matchups are sleepy time this year January 2nd games and m1ch1g@n are really all that interest me. Maybe UI vs OU Quote Link to comment

It'sNotAFakeID
Plenty of intrigue in some of the match-ups: How will Oklahoma, and Baylor respond playing two 7 win teams in Iowa and Washington, respectively? Nebraska faces Steve Spurrier in another bowl game. The Urban Meyer Bowl between Florida and tOSU. Two of the best QBs in the league in Oklahoma State's Brandon Weeden and Stanford's Andrew Luck meet up in the Fiesta Bowl. Michigan vs Virginia Tech--first time EVER those schools have played. Which defense, Georgia's or Michigan State's will shut down the opposing team's offense? How does Case Keenum fair against a stiff Penn State defense? How many points does Arkansas pile on Kansas State? --All very interesting, to me at least. Quote Link to comment
default_28
Why has nobody mentioned the injustice of Western Kentucky getting snubbed? They finished second in their conference ahead of two bowl teams they beat head to head. It's an outrage. But seriously, I was pulling for them to go somewhere. Quote Link to comment
Wolverineslappy
The BCS is a total Sham. Most of us have known it for years, but they have truly been exposed this year with these bowl match-ups. PATHETIC! U of M (yes my team) does not deserve a BCS bid, Va Tech at least finished second in their conference. And the team to the south of us playing on New Years Day? They should be at the Motor City Bowl.
