Nebraska option
I think Nebraska wins by 14. This game would be low scoring. BAMA had the greatest defense in college football history. Take all bias out of this. Quote Link to comment
B.B. Hemingway
For real?? Another one??.. Really.... Quote Link to comment
TonyStalloni
Refresh me on 92 Bama? I don't remember what thay had. Quote Link to comment
Excel
Oh my Probably NU because they were just so dominant but its hard to tell. NU drew 7 games in Lincoln that year. Granted it was the time when UA was playing some in Birmingham but they still only had 3 games in Tuscaloosa....still I think NU by a couple TD's. Quote Link to comment
iLoveLamp
Hmmm... I had Nebraska been when I took the bias out of it I got Notre Dame winning by a field goal and a safety Quote Link to comment
iLoveLamp
Refresh me on 92 Bama? I don't remember what thay had. I believe they had Peggy Sue Quote Link to comment
Hercules
Are we really going to have a thread for every possible version of 1995 Nebraska vs. ____________ ? They would have beaten them all. There, done. 1 Quote Link to comment
JJ Husker
Unf'nbelievable. Another "special" thread. 92 Bama? Who gives a flying duck? I really can't tell if this trolling or if I should be contributing money towards the cure. Quote Link to comment

Enhance
You're a very interesting poster, OP. We should just give you your own part of the forum for creating hypothetical threads. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt316
Nebraska wins and it's not really that close. Alabama's defensive stats were very good that year but they played a pretty easy schedule and didn't do anything completely crazy. outside of the bowl game they played 3 ranked teams. Tennesse, Missisippi State and Florida. Tennesse had 3 losses on the year, Florida had 4 losses on the year and Missisippi State had 5. Against two of those ranked teams, Missisppi State and Florida - Alabama gave up 21 points. That same year 6 other teams held Missippi State to less than 21 points. Including a 5-6 South Carolina team that held them to 6 points and 2-10 LSU (the worst team in the conference that year by a wide margin) held Missisppi State to just 3 points. HALF the schedule held Missippi State to fewer points that supposedly powerhouse Alabama. That same year 3 other teams held Florida to less than 21 points and Florida only scored more than 28 points 4 times that entire season and that was to the 4 worst teams on the schedule. (2 win LSU, 4 win Kentucky, 4 win Vanderbilt and 5 win Louisville) So yes Alabama had great statistics but their schedule was very favorable and they really didn't hold anyone of note to any defensive lows other teams weren't also doing. - It also helps that the highest ranked team in the SEC that year besides Alabama was #8 ranked 10-2 Georgia and Alabama didn't play them that year. Alabama played a Miami team in the bowl game that beat #3 Florida State 19-16 and #7 Penn State 17-14. The rest of Miami's schedule that year was Boise State-like. Nebraska destroyed a Florida team that had beaten 5 ranked teams (soundly) and had people considering them to be among the greatest teams of all time before the game. Statistics of note. - Alabama beat the 3 ranked teams on the regular season schedule by an average of 7.6 Points. - Nebraska beat the 3 ranked teams on the regular season schedule by an average of 28.3 Points, Miami went into the bowl game with Alabama as a team averaging 30.8PPG on offense and allowing 13.4PPG on defense. Alabama surpassed both averages easily BUT while they did score 10 more points than any other team on Miami's schedule the Defense did NOT hold Miami to their season low on offense. Heck 5-6 Arizona held miami to just 8 points in an 8-7 loss that year. Florida went into the bowl game with Nebraska as a team averaging 42,9PPG on offense and allowing 20.2PPG on defense. Nebraska held them to their season low offensively and nearly doubled the next highest point total Florida gave up on the season. Miami's D was great in 1992, but it was also overrated. If Jackie Sherill's 7-5 Missisppi State team with dual threat QB Greg Plump could put up 21 points on that Alabama team.. I think 1995 Nebraska could manage to put up 42 and considering Alabama only averaged 28ppg on the year they probably don't even make their average. I'd go 42-17 Nebraska. 1 Quote Link to comment
Marf
It'd be a blowout. Nebraska wins big. Now if 1995 Nebraska had Eric Crouch or Scott Frost instead of Tommie... It'd still be a blowout. Nebraska wins big. If 1995 Nebraska had Steve Petersen as AD at the time, and had hired Bill Callahan. Nebraska would lose. Like they did to everyone. If 1995 Nebraska had you playing for them.. It would still be a blowout. Nebraska wins easily. I think I covered all of your hypothetical threads in context to this one. Good to go. Quote Link to comment
redblooded
71 nebraska wins. Rich Glover invents time travel, by tackling someone so hard it spins the earth around the sun faster then the speed of light, thus shifting the 71 nebraska team forward 21 years, where they proceed to dispatch Alabama 45-7, on the back of 3 Johnny Rogers punt returns. On his last return, Rogers powerful feet cause the earth to shutter. Ripping the space-time continuum once again and miraculously placing the 71 team back in their own time directly before their bowl game with LSU. Feeling somewhat drained from the Alabama 1992 matchup they play down against LSU, only beating them 17 to 12. But also winning the Championship in`71, as well as the `92 championship. Except unlike Alabama, Nebraska doesn't have the gaul to claim national championships that didn't exist in this dimension and still nobody remembers 1992 Alabama. Next moronic question please.
