Warrior10
Burkhead did not practice. Pelini said he's "ahead of schedule," and "we'll see how it goes." He is traveling. #Huskers Tweet from Brian Christopher. Quote Link to comment
Chaddyboxer
Whether or not he plays, or should play, will depend on the condition of his knee. Doesn't sound like anyone knows what that is. Chances he plays are about tree fitty. Damn Lockness Monster!!!! Quote Link to comment
Husker John
Rest him......we'll need him healthy for Wisconsin. Quote Link to comment
36 Skerz
I'm a little suprised he's making the trip if he is that banged up, but I'm thinking Bo is taking him for #1 Insurance in case a couple other guys go down. #2 A calming presence for the younger guys. IllinoisHuskerFan
I had a teamate in High School sprain his MCL and its typically a a 2-3 week injury. Although Burkhead was walking a whole lot better than what I remember from my former teammate. I would expect Burkhead to be out this week a few touches next week against Ark St and a few more against Idaho St but he will be starting against Wisconsin. I thing the goal is to get him 100% healthy for the start of conferense play. We have some nice depth its at running back anyway....no need to roll the dice against 1AA teams in the next couple weeks. Quote Link to comment
RockyMountainOySker
I don't want Rexto play this week. I feel our team should be able to get by UCLA without him and we have 2 easier games after. That gives him a full 3 weeeks to recover before the start of B1G play. He will be needed big time come conference play. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
We have Ameer Abdullah. We have Braylon Heard. We have Imani Cross. We have some QB named Tyler Martin or something who's supposed to be pretty good. I think we have plenty of people who can tote the rock this weekend. Sit Rex, let him heal, and get him ready for conference play. Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
If we feel that we need rex for this game, I say you sit him for the two games after. Or give him limited reps. Quote Link to comment
EZ-E
Unfortunately I think Rex is the type of kid that we may have to temporarily put to sleep to keep him off the field. Quote Link to comment

mwj98
I'll be honest......I don't want him to play either.....We used him a ton last year. I think we have enough talent to give him a few weeks rest. Get him ready for Big Ten play. Quote Link to comment

Just think if we don't have an absolute need to play Rex, then sit him for as long as possible. Quote Link to comment
