Ameer hurt?

Recommended Posts

MSU is very physical & big. Might be a game that Cross gets a few carries. Maybe we should use the fullback a bit more. Trap them as they rush hard.

I think Cross should be getting more carries, period. Especially in the red zone.

My worry is more with Beck if Ameer is out. I'm confident that our RBs can go without Ameer, but I just feel like Beck will be tempted to throw the ball too much if AA isn't able to go.

Glad to hear people mention Rex. I've been wondering if Pelini held him back last week so he'd be completely well against the stout Sparty defense. This will be the best defense we see. Tougher than big brother Meatchickens D was last Saturday. Especially considering it's a road game.

I'd love for Rex to be out there but I'm just not sure. I'm afraid he'll be OK for a bit until he gets twisted or cuts hard on the knee and then he'll be out again. He'll keep recovering for a couple weeks then getting hurt again and he'll never really be healthy. I really think we should just rest him and hope he's ready for the bowl game.

With MSU's front 7, we may have to air it out a little more than usual, even with Ameer in, but the running game shouldn't change with or without Ameer. Heard is one of the best backs we have, and this could be his time to shine, if this is the case. If Burkhead is healthy and ready, even better for NU.
