DT Abu Lamin [South Carolina - Signed LOI]

Recommended Posts

It is amazing how quick the perception of NU changes when they get here. It just shows that if we can get kids "here" we can recruit with anyone....

I think we pick up Newell, and this visit will go a long way to help our chances for Lamin (got to stay reserved though). Would be great to win both DT battles against South Carolina. Both mentioned end of August for commitment dates. Would be BIG for defensive recruiting if we can get back-to-back DT commits.

This is why the those recruiting rules MUST change for NU to be able to compete for recruits

Sillyness having OVs for HS kids only during season

Once a player gets here, ESPECIALLY if he has his family in tow, the academic focus, support and facilities can help sway SOME of these top level recruits our way

How in the world is it BETTER for a HS kid to have to rush off to an airport the night of his HS game to get here for a Saturday game? The early morning games- simply kill off any chance to get many recruits in

The deck is stacked against teams that have to go further away than 3-400 miles to get players.

Dont look for anything to happen- or expect the bully SEC to get behind anything that will ethically improve recruiting- they have all those kids and $$ in their backyard

Delaney needs to do all he can to make this happen

Agreed.

This might be lame, but, why can't you do your official whenever you want BUT if it is not in the "time frame" the school just pays you back later, when the time frame date kicks in.

That might work for the average family. However, many of these kids come from homes that have very little or nothing. So, it would be extremely difficult for them to pay for the trip (possibly up to 5 trips) and then wait for several months for the money.

Bo was all over that on media day. The recruiting cycle is speeding-up and programs are filling much of their class before officials even start. There is no reason for the NCAA to not recognize that and act accordingly to move officials up to the summer. As you said Delaney needs to be leading the charge on this. Considering it not only makes sense but will add competitive balance it shouldn't be that hard of a sell.

Just to further hit home the point about the importance of getting players to visit -

Was your perception of Nebraska just cornfields and cows? How has it changed since being there?

It's changed dramatically I advise every recruit in the nation to come check out to Nebraska they will not be let down the place is great
