AgMarauder04
While he can be polarizing and has made some off field mistakes, it's hard to argue with the fact that dude can flat out PLAY. 1 Quote Link to comment
NUance
While he can be polarizing and has made some off field mistakes, it's hard to argue with the fact that dude can flat out PLAY. That's almost EXACTLY what I was gonna say. Except in different words: The guy is a jackass, but on the field he's money. 1 Quote Link to comment
AgMarauder04
He may be a jackass... BUT HE'S OUR JACKASS!! His brilliance on field is buying A&M the time to recruit up to SEC level. Quote Link to comment
T_O_Bull
Anyone think he is going to flop this season? With all of his cameos at all these sporting events and now in a new country video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8S6FV36qO14 If I was his teammate I would be wondering how hard he is working on improving his football game? Question answered... He's playing better than last year. T_O_B Quote Link to comment
AgMarauder04
I think he should win another Heisman. It's not fair that the only reason he's not the clear cut favorite is our D's ability to keep a team under 40. Quote Link to comment

Of all things, you're going to criticize the Heisman candidacy system as being unfair? 1 Quote Link to comment
AgMarauder04
Maybe "fair" is not the word I was looking for. I guess I don't understand why voters "deduct points" for Johnny losing games when he is playing at such a high level. It's not his fault we have 2 losses. He doesn't play D. Compare not only his yearlong production to the other candidates, but also his "biggest" game, and it should be no contest. I'll even go out on a limb and say you take the names off each candidate's data, and his "data" is chosen every time. Quote Link to comment

You're in the wrong place if you think you're going to get much support for blaming the defense instead of the quarterback. 1 Quote Link to comment

If the data includes wins and losses, then no, I would firmly disagree with you. You don't have to understand it but that's just the way it is. We've dealt with it recently too - if you want to talk about unfair, try saying with a straight face that Mark Ingram was a better football player than Ndamukong Suh. Quote Link to comment

He was damn sure better than Colt McCoy. The problem is too many people think it should go to "the best player on one of the best teams." I know I'm biased, but I believe that Manziel is the best player in the country. Quote Link to comment

AgMarauder04
Also a fair statement. I guess my thought is when it comes down to it, who do you want on the field to make a game winning drive or stop? Quote Link to comment
GSG
After watching NIU, I'd love to see someone like Jordan Lynch win it. He won't because he plays in the MAC, but he put the team on his back in 4th quarter. A lot of fun to watch. Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
Things I think after reading the last few posts. I think Manziel is the best player in the country. He should be the Heisman winner this year. Winston is nipping at his heels and if Florida St wins the ACC, it will be a tough call. Ndamukong Suh should have won the Heisman that year. The 3 candidates that finished ahead of him were great players but you could argue that they were not always the best player on the field in any given game. You can't say that about Suh.
