hskrfan4life
Our next opponent is Southern Miss. Where they rank in terms of stats according to ESPN.com: Passing rank* 13/126 with 377.0 passing yards Rushing rank* 115/126 with 23.0 rushing yards Total offense rank* 65/126 with 400 total offensive yards Total defense rank* 9/126 with 207 yards allowed on defense Now they did play Texas State and Southern Miss is on a 13 game losing streak dating back to last year. They do have a senior qb who threw the ball 53 times last week and completed 28 of them. I think this is a game where we will win handily, but could give false hope due to the fact Southern Miss isn't that great of a team. None the less we will win this game and get prepared for UCLA on Sept 14th. What are your thoughts? *denotes national ranking Quote Link to comment

The Dude
National rankings. They ran for 23 yards. Let's just hope they don't get all that on one run against us. Quote Link to comment

BIGREDIOWAN
Wait a second..................you mean....................we play a different team.........................besides Wyoming this year?! I couldn't tell with the two threads out of the 50 on the main page right now. Yes, let's move on from the Wyoming game everyone. Quote Link to comment
Warrior10
How's their QB in relation to Smith? Does he have the same pocket presence? Quote Link to comment
NUance
It was a tough debut for Monken, who wants to run his up-tempo offense that was so successful during his two seasons as the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State. But the Golden Eagles looked lost for much of Saturday in front of two-thirds full Roberts Stadium. The turnovers didn't help, either. Southern Miss lost three fumbles in the first nine minutes of the game. LINK Oh great, another former B12 offensive coordinator. Just like Wyo's HC Dave Christensen. But it sounds like Southern Miss doesn't have it's hurry-up offense together yet, like Wyoming did. A lot of it has to do with the Southern Miss QB not being nearly as good as Smith. He's pretty good. He is also a statue and not very mobile. That is a serious No No against Pelini defenses. Quote Link to comment
